Job Summary

Lead and manage shipyard facility maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and efficient facility development. Oversee maintenance teams, subcontractors, and asset management to support smooth yard operations and infrastructure upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and execute Planned Maintenance schedules with a shipyard maintenance team to ensure operational readiness
• Verify and inspect daily maintenance work completed by the team to maintain quality standards
• Lead maintenance staff to upkeep equipment, machinery, prime movers, and cranes (overhead, crawler, gantry) for optimal functionality
• Maintain all maintenance records in compliance with ISO standards as the custodian
• Manage upkeep of workshops, office buildings, gravel docks, slipways, and finger piers to meet health and safety operational requirements
• Collaborate with other departments to support yard operations, including dock lighting, dock gates, and welding machines
• Oversee facility development projects ensuring timely completion within budget constraints
• Prepare annual budgets for tools and equipment to support maintenance activities
• Plan, vet, and approve subcontractors’ equipment and tools used in the shipyard to ensure compliance and safety
• Manage subcontractors’ work related to facility upgrades and development projects to meet quality and schedule requirements
• Monitor hazardous waste (e.g., B3 waste) handling and disposal in accordance with local laws and regulations
• Consolidate data and recommend purchasing or disposal of assets such as scrap materials to management
• Coordinate, track, and verify rental equipment usage to support yard operations efficiently
• Prepare and present monthly facility and infrastructure maintenance reports to management for informed decision-making
• Act as designated person responsible for notification and rectification of all facility defects reported by shipyard workers
• Participate as a member of the shipyard environment upgrade team to enhance facility standards

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong technical background
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a shipyard facility or plant facility manager
• Proficient in Microsoft Projects, MS Office, and ISO standards
• Willingness and ability to work full-time in Batam, Indonesia

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Ability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia to facilitate coordination and communication within the local work environment

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 10 years relevant working experience
• With experience in Civil Infrastructure/LTA projects is a MUST
• Good technical background exposed to Civil works
• Familiar with LTA projects with experience of working on at least 1 project over 100m in value.
