THE ROLE:

As a New Product Introduction Product Engineering Manager, you will lead the Product Engineering (PE) team under the Product Engineering Organization (PEO) to develop exciting next generation AMD products. You will work closely with world class Product Test, Design, Quality, Reliability, Customer, Software and Platform global teams to plan and develop the final product solution to meet Cost, Yield and Quality targets. With close collaboration with end customers, you will also have insights into the product and guide your team to achieve customer expectations.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for someone with strong technical, analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrating the characteristics of an independent and resourceful individual. Preferably, the candidate should have experience in leading NPI teams and understanding the ecosystem of product development. Good communication is also key to successful collaboration. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the Product Engineering team in silicon characterization and analysis to develop Product Definition to meet customer requirements and achieve Yield and Cost target.
• Interface with US product groups, design, platform validation, BIOS and test engineers on root cause resolution for device failures along with power and performance settings.
• Provide Product Technical leadership to PEO teams, drive alignment among teams to achieve product technical requirements.
• Oversee device and process reliability, assess implications of stress-testing outcomes, balance business and quality/reliability requirements for Products and Processes in question
• Set goal, plan and coordinate (data analysis, debug, root-cause, implementing solutions) yield improvement activities.
• Lead effort to optimize product positioning to meet business requirements, from Fab Assembly
• Provide timely debug for customer reported issues, assist customer and quality teams to provide resolutions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Analytical Thinker: able to assess problems, plan for experiments/next steps and drive team to execute.
• Data Analytics: able to understand complex data and draw technical conclusions to drive the next step.
• Experience in Product Management methodology, fab process and/or x86/GPU/High Speed IO operation is preferred.
• Perform new device characterization, circuit sensitivity analysis, interpret findings and work with the technical teams to root-cause, and/or provide mitigation actions for any observations.
• Work with global teams across the organization during New Product Introduction phase to validate new device features and test/DFT methodologies, and implement them in production flow while balancing yield and quality
• Strong and effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager will support new product development, new product introduction and cost out designing for existing product lines through sound execution of engineering principles and processes. A high level of ‘hands-on” technical capability and sound engineering principles are required to be successful in this position. Leads a team of engineers and provide coaching and guidance. Grooms, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function in the long sustainable manner.

Job Description:

The Product Family Manager is responsible for leading a portfolio of product and customer development projects, ensuring delivery aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and engineering excellence. This role provides technical and organizational leadership across multidisciplinary teams, driving execution from concept through manufacturing readiness while developing long-term product and technology strategies.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering expertise, combined with proven leadership in complex product development environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio & Project Delivery:

• Own and manage a portfolio of product and customer development projects.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with defined scope and performance targets.
• Drive accountability across project teams to meet commitments to internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery performance.

Product & Technology Strategy

• Develop and maintain product family designs aligned with business strategy and customer needs.
• Translate strategic objectives into executable development programs.

Planning & Resource Management

• Define resource requirements across engineering disciplines to support project execution.
• Develop and manage budgets for product and project activities.
• Optimize allocation of engineering resources across multiple concurrent projects.

Technical Leadership & Oversight

• Provide technical direction across electrical, mechanical, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure robust engineering practices, design quality, and manufacturability are embedded in all deliverables.
• Oversee technical decision-making to balance performance, cost, and schedule.

Organization& Capability Development

• Build a high-performing engineering organization capable of scaling with business growth.
• Establish best practices, tools, and processes for product development execution.

People Leadership

• Lead, coach, and mentor engineering staff members.
• Drive performance management, capability development, and succession planning within the team.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all engineering activities and deliverables meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Monitor and control the quality of product and project outputs.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and product reliability.

Reporting & Communication

• Provide clear, concise, and timely reporting on portfolio performance, risks, and key milestones.
• Serve as a primary interface for product family projects with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Business Development and Commercial.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Extensive experience in product development and engineering leadership within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven track record managing complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects or portfolios.
• Strong technical foundation in mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and influence across functions.
• Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and strategic roadmap development.
