What will you do?

As a Data Scientist, you will use data science and Generative AI techniques to develop models and products that support a range of divisions across investment promotion, industry development and corporate functions.

You will have the opportunity to partner closely with key stakeholders to identify business challenges, translate requirements into technical solutions, and deliver AI and Machine Learning products that drive measurable outcomes.

• Collaborating with business users to understand their key priorities and use cases; proposing and developing solutions using data science and/or Generative AI techniques to drive business value
• Researching emerging AI/data science techniques and identifying relevant ones for EDB to explore and adopt (e.g. Agentic, LLM, Predictive, Fraud/Anomaly Detection, Text Analytics, Customer Segmentation)
• Data wrangling & analysis - preprocessing, cleaning and feature engineering
• Supporting the daily operations and maintenance of deployed data science models and products, including Assistants on PAIR / AIBots
• Developing backend APIs and services to support AI model deployment and integration
• Building frontend interfaces and user experiences for AI-powered applications
• Documenting changes to existing products
• Reviewing and implementing fixes for reported security vulnerabilities

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning / Data Science / AI or related disciplines;
• Able to understand and apply a range of AI/ML techniques for regression and classification
• Familiar with popular python packages ( e.g. pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, XGBoost, NLTK, spaCy )
• Understanding of LLM concepts (e.g. context windows, embeddings, chunking, token management) and architectures (e.g. RAG)
• Experience with context engineering techniques and prompt optimization strategies
• Proficient in git, SQL
• Proficient in Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, MS PowerBI, Microstrategy)
• Proficient in modern programming languages (e.g. typescript, C#)
• Experience in cloud platform and services preferably in AWS
• Experience in Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience with web frameworks and full-stack development, including backend frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask, Express.js) and RESTful API development, and frontend technologies (e.g. React, Vue.js, HTML/CSS, TypeScript)
• Experience with LLM frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers)
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding techniques (e.g. Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS)
• Understanding of AI agent frameworks and multi-agent systems

Job Responsibilities

A. Collibra Implementation & Configuration

·      Develop, configure, and deploy data lineage workflows in Collibra (Technical & Business Lineage).

·      Implement Collibra Data Catalog, Business Glossary, and custom domains/models.

·      Configure Collibra Operating Model, communities, domains, roles, and responsibilities.

·      Build and optimise Collibra Workflows using BPMN and Collibra Workflow Designer.

B. Metadata & Lineage Integration

·      Connect Collibra with enterprise systems:

·      ETL/ELT Tools: Informatica, Talend, dbt, Airflow

·      Data Lake / DWH: Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Oracle

·      Core Banking Systems: CASA, Trade, Treasury, Payments, Channels

·      Develop automated metadata ingestion pipelines (API, JDBC, custom scripts).

·      Map and trace end-to-end lineage from source → transformation → consumption systems.

C. Data Governance & Regulatory Alignment

·      Work with the Japanese Bank’s DMO on MAS-aligned data governance requirements (MAS 610/649, BCBS 239).

·      Support creation and maintenance of Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, and ownership models:

·      Data Owners

·      Data Stewards

·      Technical Owners

·      Perform metadata quality checks and lineage validation.

D. Stakeholder & Delivery Management

·      Engage with the Japanese Bank’s Data Governance, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams.

·      Provide technical SME guidance, defect remediation, and enhancement support.

·      Prepare weekly progress reports, risks, and issues, and present to the bank’s DMO / Delivery Lead.

·      Contribute to DATA delivery governance with FSI Delivery Head.

Job Requirements

A. Technical Skills

·      3–7 years hands-on experience with Collibra (Catalog, Data Lineage, Glossary, Workflow).

·      Strong understanding of:

·      Metadata models & governance frameworks

·      Collibra DGC concepts

·      Custom lineage creation

·      Integration via REST API, Edge, Lineage Harvesting tools

·      Experience in mapping lineage for financial data flows (preferred).

·      Proficiency in SQL and metadata extraction from databases & ETL pipelines.

·      Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) is a plus.

B. Domain Knowledge

·      Functional understanding of Banking & FSI systems: CASA, Loan, Trade, Treasury, GL, Payments, Channels.

·      Familiarity with MAS regulatory reporting, risk controls, or Data Governance programs.

C. Soft Skills

·      Clear communication with senior stakeholders.

·      Strong documentation and reporting capability.

·      Ability to work independently under strict timelines.

·      Positive, client-focused mindset; protects company’s reputation.

4. Certifications (Good to Have)

·      Collibra Ranger / Collibra Steward / Collibra Workflow Engineer.

·      Data Governance certifications (DAMA, DCAM).

·      Cloud Architect or Data Engineering certification.

5. Responsibilities Reporting to FSI Delivery Head

·      Weekly update on delivery status, risks, and replacement requirements.

·      Maintain high customer satisfaction with Japanese Bank DMO & Technology stakeholders.

·      Ensure SLA compliance, quality of deliverables, and minimal escalations.

·      Act as SME and train backup engineers for continuity.

Job Description:

1. Must have experience in data centre deployments, building large-scale infrastructure.
2. Knowledge of network routing and switching concepts and protocols including BGP, TCP/IP, VLAN, ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS
3. Comfortable accomplishing basic tasks from Linux/Unix command line interface
4. Demonstrated ability to analyse complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.
5. Experience with Service Provider network hardware platforms and architectures including routers/switches and data center switching platforms is preferred (Good to have)
6. Experience with field-based work in data centers
