This role reports to the Deputy Director (Data Strategy and Capabilities Building) and leads organisation-wide Data & AI capability planning, with a strong focus on driving adoption and sustained use across the organisation.  The role is accountable for translating Data & AI strategy into tangible adoption outcomes, by designing and executing approaches that embed Data & AI into day-to-day work.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:

Adoption Strategy & Delivery

·       Lead organisation-wide Data & AI capability planning and adoption efforts aligned to enterprise priorities

·       Translate strategy into clear adoption approaches that drive usage and behavioural change

·       Identify barriers to adoption and implement targeted interventions (e.g. pilots, campaigns, initiatives) to improve uptake

·       Track adoption outcomes (e.g. participation, usage, impact) and refine approaches based on results

Adoption Design

·       Develop clear and compelling adoption propositions for different stakeholder groups, articulating relevance and value

·       Design approaches that build momentum and participation (e.g. champions networks, communities of practice, targeted engagement efforts)

·       Shape how Data & AI is positioned and communicated across the organisation to drive understanding and interest

Portfolio & Stakeholder Management

·       Oversee a portfolio of capability and adoption initiatives, ensuring alignment and scalability across the organisation

·       Work across technical, strategy, and programme teams to bridge capability development and actual adoption outcomes

·       Engage senior stakeholders to drive ownership, prioritisation, and sustained participation

·       Support transition of initiatives from exploration into operational use

Planning & Reporting

·       Provide planning and coordination across capability and adoption workstreams

·       Track progress, risks, dependencies, and adoption outcomes for management reporting

·       Support prioritisation and resource alignment across initiatives

Requirements:

• At least 6–8 years of relevantexperience in programme management, transformation, data or digital roles.

• Strong ability to operate across technical and non‑technical contexts.

• Good understanding of enterprise Data and AI considerations, including governance and infrastructure.

• Strong planning, synthesis and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Comfortable operating across strategy and execution in a complex organisational environment.

Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract with potential for a 1-year extension and consideration for permanent tenure thereafter.

The role focuses on ensuring that Data and AI initiatives are organisationally ready, adoptable and sustainable, working closely with the Data Strategy, Analytics and Infrastructure teams.

• Lead organisation‑wide Data Analytics and AI capability planning, change and adoption efforts to support enterprise priorities

• Translate enterprise Data and AI strategies into clear plans,roadmaps and coordinated workstreams.

• Oversee Data Analytics and AI capability development across theorganisation, ensuring initiatives are aligned, scalable and sustainable.

• Provide planning, coordination and light oversight acrossengagement and capability workstreams, including adoption and readiness workstreams.

• Guide and shape engagement approaches to support effective Dataand AI adoption, ensuring initiatives are aligned with enterprise strategy andintegrated with technical and planning efforts.

• Review engagement plans, adoption outcomes and capability insightsto assess the effectiveness of engagement approaches and recommend adjustments to improve adoption outcomes.

• Track progress, risks and dependencies across Data and AIinitiatives for consolidated management reporting. Work with the Data Analyticsvertical to support the transition of initiatives from exploration into operationalisation and scaling, where appropriate.

This role reports to the Principal Manager (Data Capability, Change and Adoption) and supports organisation‑wide adoption of Data and AI initiatives through a combination of strategic engagement, change management and community‑building.

The role works closely with business units, technical teams and enterprise stakeholders to ensure Data and AI initiatives are strategically aligned, well‑understood and sustainably adopted across the organisation.Officers in this role are expected to share responsibilities flexibly, covering both strategy‑facing and culture‑building workstreams as required.

Responsibilities:
Keyresponsibilities include:

• Build, manage and sustain Data and AI communities of practice across the organisation.

• Design and deliver Data and AI engagement activities such as showcases, sharing sessions, learning events and talks.

• Act as a front-facing engagement point for business units exploring AI opportunities.

• Facilitated discussions to surface Data and AI use-cases and support officers in problem-framing and awareness of AI possibilities and constraints.

• Translate Data and AI concepts and initiatives into accessible narratives for non-technical audiences.

• Gather adoption insights and feedback to inform planning and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• At least 3–5 years of experience inengagement, change or programme delivery roles.

• Strong facilitation and communication skills.

• Experience running engagement or community-building initiatives.

• Applied understanding of Data and AI concepts.

• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
