[2026 Internship] Software Engineer Intern

Duration: Full-time Internship (6-month period)

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a hands-on team experimenting with AI technologies while applying core software engineering fundamentals to design, build, and test real systems. What To Expect:

1. Design, develop, and prototype software applications that incorporate AI technologies such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, and automation frameworks, with a focus on corporate process automation.

2. Build and test intelligent systems such as AI-powered software components such as assistants, workflow bots, APIs, and automation services to improve internal operations.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact business areas where AI can drive efficiency and innovation.

4. Develop and refine AI-enabled workflows, including prompt design, LLM integration, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.

5. Support the full lifecycle of end-to-end software and AI implementation from ideation and proof-of-concept to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

6. Stay curious about emerging AI and software development trends, sharing insights and experimental findings with the wider team.

Requirements

During the internship, you will get to learn and experience:

• How to apply software engineering fundamentals (modular design, basic architecture thinking, debugging, and testing) when building AI-enabled systems.
• Hands-on experience experimenting with different AI models, APIs, and frameworks, and integrating them into working software applications.
• The fundamentals of Generative AI and Agentic AI, and how they can be applied to solve real business challenges.
• Practical skills in coding, API integration, AI prototyping, and prompt engineering, with exposure to how AI systems fit into existing applications and workflows.
• An introduction to responsible, secure, and ethical AI development, including awareness of data handling and system limitations.

Based in Singapore, the Data ScienceIntern will develop and apply machine learning and computer vision techniquesto extract actionable insights from data collected by inspection and NDT tools,helping to advance the company's software products and solutions.

What will you do

• Develop tools to process the high volume of information collected by cameras and NDTtools (e.g Ground Penetrating Radar)
• Uncover hidden data correlations in aforementioned data (e.g. presence of corrosion vs concrete cover vs geographical location)
• Improve existing software tools using data science

1. Discover, learn and apply state-of-the-art Machine Learning techniques to InspectionTech problems.
2. Leverage data science techniques to improve customer insights in the InspectionTech space.

• Support project lifecycles from brainstorming to production
• Contribute to developing cutting-edge software and solutions that add value to the company and its customers.

What do we expect

LAI games is growing, and we want to expand our support to our customers by offering remote software management of our games, and we want to provide our customers with comprehensive use-data of our games. 

We want to expand our software team for this, and we’re looking for an experienced software engineering manager to realize this ambition.  

Key Responsibilities

As a Fullstack Software Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop enterprise-grade software while building practical skills in modern web development and system integration.

• Learn and contribute – Write clean, maintainable code under mentorship, following established best practices and team standards 
• Take ownership of features – Own the features that you develop, with guidance from senior engineers
• Participate in architecture discussions, ensuring scalability, maintainability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, product managers, QAs and other engineers to deliver high-impact features 
• Collaborate with teams – Work with frontend engineers, product managers, QAs and other engineers to understand the full software development lifecycle
• Document your work - Maintain clear documentation of code, processes, and technical decisions
• Review and interpret third-party API/SDK documentation, creating POCs and reference implementations

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate would have:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Basic programming fundamentals - Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
• Exposure to Python - Academic or personal project experience with Python (Flask/FastAPI exposure is a plus)
• Frontend fundamentals - Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; any experience with React or similar frameworks is beneficial
• Database basics - Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres) and basic SQL queries
• Problem-solving mindset - Ability to break down problems, ask good questions, and work through challenges with support
• Communication skills - Ability to articulate technical concepts and ask for help when needed
• Team player - Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and collaborate effectively

Internship Period: May to December 2026 (minimum commitment period of 4–6 months)

The intern would be engaged in a variety of job tasks, including but not limited to:

• Document the existing process for the current internal system.
• Partner with support to create a mobile app for internal maintenance using a rapid development platform.
• Transition the existing internal maintenance web portal to a new platform.
• Maintain the existing maintenance web portal, adding new features and performing bug fixes based on reported issues and team discussions.
• Build new applications according to evolving business needs.
• Integrate new applications with different internal and external systems.

Requirements

• Must be able to commit for 5 full work days.
• Familiarity with Node.js development will be an advantage.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing business requirements.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Job Summary
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer Intern to join our rapidly expanding Engineering team who is passionate about designing and building great user facing features. You will work in a cross disciplinary setting with both product owners and frontend engineers to enable our Enterprise clients to complete their functional workload on our ESG platform.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer who has a strong background in Java and has worked with many types of RESTful APIs. You will have the opportunity to design and implement backend workflows with an API-first approach for the capital markets and ESG (green financing) sector. You should also have a strong background in web security. You can expect to work with many Cloud-based tools (AWS Cloud) and be open to learning new tools. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with little supervision in an Agile environment.

Job Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities:

1. Full software development lifecycle from translating requirements into technical specifications, implementing software code, checking in code for peer review and troubleshooting

3. Implement and interface with REST APIs with Java
