Position Overview

Seeking a skilled Kafka Developer (& support specialist) to join for a client engagement. This role combines development and support responsibilities, focusing on maintaining existing Kafka clusters and enhancing applications as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Kafka Cluster Management & Support

• Monitor, maintain, and optimise existing Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues in production and non-production environments
• Perform regular health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning of Kafka infrastructure
• Implement and maintain Kafka security configurations and access controls
• Support incident management and provide timely resolution for Kafka-related incidents

Development & Enhancement

• Develop and enhance Kafka-based applications using Java
• Design and implement Kafka producers, consumers, and stream processing applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate Kafka solutions into existing applications
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for Kafka applications

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements
• Stay updated with latest Kafka features and industry best practices
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling activities

Technical Skills

• Kafka Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Apache/ Confluent Kafka, including:
• Kafka cluster setup, configuration, and administration
• Kafka topics, partitions, replication, and consumer groups
• Kafka Connect and Kafka Streams
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Java Development: Proficient in Java programming with:
• Strong understanding of Java fundamentals and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Kafka Java client libraries
• Knowledge of multithreading and concurrent programming
• Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle)
• Additional Technical Knowledge:
• Experience with message serialisation formats (like, JSON)
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka
• Proven track record in both development and support roles
• Experience in production support and incident management
• Background in maintaining mission-critical systems

Engagement & Operations Support Officer

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Engagement & Operations Support Officer to support a national initiative aimed at driving cultural participation across communities. This role combines engagement, operations, and event execution to ensure a seamless and positive experience for stakeholders and the public.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement & Outreach

• Support outreach strategies to drive awareness and participation
• Engage with arts, heritage, and community partners
• Assist in executing targeted engagement plans for different demographics
• Support offline outreach activities such as roadshows and community events

Partnerships & Events

• Coordinate and support event planning and execution
• Manage logistics for activations, roadshows, and partnerships
• Liaise with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders

Operations & Customer Service

• Support helpdesk and customer service operations
• Respond to enquiries and ensure service standards are met
• Monitor performance metrics and support improvements

Administration & Risk Management

• Assist in documentation, SOPs, and reporting
• Provide administrative and coordination support

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in events, communications, or administrative support
• Background in Communications, Events, Arts Management or related fields preferred
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to work evenings/weekends when required

In this role you will:

A.  Accounts Responsibility:

·    Maintain accuracy of general ledger.

·    Perform daily accounting & finance duties includingreceivables and payables processes, general ledger, tax and bank reconciliationetc.

·    Prepare monthly financial and management reports formanagement.

·    Oversee AR and AP data and maintenance of sub-ledger.

·    Handle data entry of transactions to accounting system.

·    Support audit and tax queries.

B.  Admin Responsibility:

·    Reporting to Sales Manager.

·    Being the centre point of contact for sales ordering placing, including orders from various countries.

·    Efficiently process orders and coordinate deliveries.

·    Be involved with the entire sales operations process, from issuing invoice, navigating customer to payment platform, issuing sales order, purchase orders to other trade-related documents.

·    Responsible for shipment arrangement to ensure smooth & consistent goods delivery.

·    Establish active communication and engagement with sales and logistic team to ensure that orders are processed promptly.

·    Point of contact for Key account inquiries and being an inside sales for existing customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

·    Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level & ITE or Diploma with 1 years working experience will be an advantage.

·    Basic accounting skills.

·    Computer skill such as MS Office.

·    Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
