We currently have an opening for a Capacity Engineer (Data Center) role for our client in Singapore which is a leading global investment bank. The Data Centre Capacity Engineer is responsible for capacity planning and management across data centres and network equipment rooms.

This role ensures sufficient space, power, and cooling are available to support current operations and future growth, while maintaining resilience, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Planning & Management

• Plan and manage data centre and network room capacity covering space, power, and cooling.
• Develop short‑, medium‑, and long‑term capacity forecasts based on IT demand and growth projections.
• Support phased load planning (e.g. IT load ramp‑up by phase).

Infrastructure Assessment

• Evaluate electrical infrastructure including UPS, transformers, PDUs, generators, and redundancy (N, N+1).
• Assess cooling infrastructure such as CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, and cooling towers to support projected IT loads.
• Identify capacity constraints, single points of failure, and mitigation options.

Design & Setup

• Support data centre and network room design, layout, and rack planning.
• Review and validate load calculations for electrical and cooling systems.
• Ensure new deployments align with data centre standards and best practices.

Tools & Inventory

• Maintain accurate capacity data in DCIM and asset management tools (e.g. Nlyte, Remedy).
• Validate inventory accuracy and ensure alignment between physical assets and system records.

Governance & Operations

• Support Method of Procedure (MOP) reviews related to capacity upgrades and changes.
• Work closely with Operations, Facilities, Network, Hosting, and Governance teams.
• Provide input to vendor designs, tenders, and technical reviews.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Produce regular capacity reports and dashboards for management.
• Communicate risks, constraints, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of data centre power and cooling infrastructure.
• Experience in capacity planning for data centres and network rooms.
• Familiarity with redundancy concepts and resilience standards.
• Experience with DCIM and asset management tools.
• Ability to work across IT, facilities, and vendor teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in data centre operations, facilities engineering, or infrastructure planning.
• Experience supporting large‑scale or regulated enterprise environments (e.g. financial institutions).

Lead Mechanical Engineer (Core & Reliability)

As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will drive the architectural design, implementation, and lifecycle reliability of thermal management systems across our regional data center footprint. You will ensure that our mechanical infrastructure—from initial site concept to live, active operations—meets stringent uptime Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while seamlessly supporting high-density, next-generation client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Architecture: Spearhead and oversee the design of advanced thermal management systems, with a specialized focus on integrating liquid cooling architectures and high-density air-cooling solutions. You will develop standardized, modular mechanical blueprints that allow for concurrent maintainability, continuous cooling, and seamless capacity scaling without disrupting live operations. Additionally, you will evaluate and select mechanical equipment (chillers, CDUs, CRAC/CRAH units) based on efficiency, scalability, and long-term reliability.

• Reliability & Lifecycle Engineering: Embed Design-for-Reliability (DfR) principles into all mechanical designs and deployments, conducting extensive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) during the design and delivery phases. You will establish predictive maintenance frameworks utilizing telemetry and Building Management System (BMS) data to preempt mechanical degradation and optimize PUE/WUE. Following any mechanical anomalies, you will lead the post-incident lifecycle once root cause analysis (RCA) is established, ensuring findings are integrated into future system designs.

• Strategic & Cross-Functional Support: Provide deep technical validation and engineering support for complex client deployments and operations teams, particularly in high-density markets like Singapore. You will partner closely with design and delivery teams in Malaysia to ensure on-the-ground mechanical construction and operations align perfectly with design tolerances and multi-phase schedules. Furthermore, you will assess mechanical viability, environmental compliance, and local climate constraints across the region.

What You Bring

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering. A Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Technologist certification is highly preferred.

• Min 10 years of extensive experience in mission-critical infrastructure design and operations, specifically within large-scale data center environments.

• Demonstrated expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), flow network modeling (FNM), liquid cooling systems, and advanced HVAC configurations.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for executing and driving results on large-scale efforts or multiple smaller efforts and serving as a development lead for most medium and large projects. • Provide the corresponding architectural guidance, and conduct design reviews and code reviews based on the projects assigned to your LOB. The product definition and technical planning is out of scope.

• Accountable for the overall strategy and for driving the teams inside and outside of your organization to deliver expected results. Drive mindful discussion with business and technical stakeholders that lead to timely decisions. Participate in discussions to drive smart trade-off decisions that balance efforts, delivery timelines, features, and technical constraints. Accountable for providing architectural guidance to the SDE’s based on best practices and in alignment with CTO guidelines and platform. Elaborate, promote and communicate Design Patterns applicable to NGA architectures and solutions.

• Elaborate, bring and communicate clear metrics on Design Reviews, Code Reviews, CI/CD and Design Patterns adoption.

Recommended Qualifications: 

• 8-15 years of relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior level experience in an Enterprise Architecture role with subject matter expert in one or more areas.

• Exhibit expertise in all aspects of technology by understanding broader patterns and techniques as they apply to Citi’s internal and external cloud platforms (AWS, PCF, Akamai)

• Lead resources and serve as a functional SME across the company through advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, networking, use of knowledge and experience to lead, architect, and drive broader adoption forward.

• Acquire relevant technology and financial industry skills (AWS PWS) and understand all aspects of NGA technology – including innovative approaches and new opportunities.

• Demonstrate knowledge on automating code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing in the CI/CD.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for maintaining optimal machine performance through downtime troubleshooting including diagnosis and resolve of machine issues efficiently, implement long-term solutions for recurring problems, collaborate with vendors and assist in updating ISO documentation to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance by identifying potential part failures and recommend improvements to extend component life, ensuring smooth and efficient equipment operation.
• Support new machine qualification (PAC/buy-off) and ensure machines meet safety standards and verify parts against specifications.
• Assist engineers in preparing work point instructions (WPI) to facilitate smooth product introductions and business growth.
• Manage machine-related spare parts, including stock checks and order placements.
• Recommend cost-saving measures through localization or vendor changes to reduce cost.
