Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Marine Engineering Technician to support marine, offshore, shipyard, piping and mechanical engineering works in Singapore.

This role is suitable for a candidate with a marine engineering, mechanical engineering, shipyard, offshore, piping, fabrication, maintenance, or technical operations background. The successful candidate will assist in daily site coordination, technical checks, manpower deployment, work progress tracking, basic documentation, and communication between supervisors, workers, clients, vendors and management.

This is a practical, operations-focused role for someone who is comfortable working in a shipyard environment and wants to build a long-term career in marine engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site & Workshop Operations Support

• Assist the Project Manager / Operations Manager in coordinating daily marine engineering works at shipyard and workshop sites.
• Support piping, mechanical, steelwork, repair, fabrication, installation and maintenance activities.
• Check that workers, tools, materials and equipment are ready before work starts.
• Monitor daily job progress and report delays, manpower issues, access issues or site constraints.
• Help coordinate work areas, permits, safety requirements and job sequencing with site teams.

2. Marine Piping & Mechanical Works

• Assist in basic technical checks for marine piping, valves, fittings, supports, flanges, gaskets, pumps and related mechanical components.
• Support measurement-taking, site marking, material preparation and fabrication follow-up.
• Read and interpret basic drawings, sketches, work instructions, job sheets and site mark-ups.
• Help identify site clashes, missing materials, wrong specifications or installation issues.
• Assist in inspection preparation, rectification works and handover of completed jobs.

3. Manpower & Subcontractor Coordination

• Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, technicians and workers on daily work assignments.
• Track worker attendance, deployment, overtime and job allocation where required.
• Assist with coordination of subcontractors, vendors and delivery personnel.
• Ensure workers are briefed on work scope, safety requirements and daily priorities.
• Escalate discipline, productivity or manpower shortage issues to management.

4. Materials, Tools & Equipment

• Assist in checking material availability before work starts.
• Follow up on pipe fittings, consumables, tools, PPE, welding items, mechanical parts and site equipment.
• Support simple stock tracking and record-keeping.
• Report missing, damaged or unsuitable materials to the supervisor.
• Coordinate with procurement/admin team for urgent material requirements.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare simple daily progress reports, site photos, attendance records and job updates.
• Assist with service reports, work completion records, delivery orders and inspection documents.
• Maintain proper filing of drawings, permits, checklists and project records.
• Update management on completed works, pending items, variation works and site issues.
• Use WhatsApp, email, Microsoft Excel, Word and basic digital tools for reporting.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Follow shipyard safety rules, company procedures and client site requirements.
• Assist in ensuring workers use proper PPE and comply with safe work procedures.
• Support permit-to-work, toolbox meeting, risk assessment and safety documentation where required.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses or incidents immediately.
• Work closely with WSH personnel, supervisors and client representatives.

Requirements

• Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident preferred.
• NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Candidates with relevant hands-on shipyard, marine, offshore, construction, fabrication, piping or maintenance experience are welcome.
• Able to work in shipyard, workshop and outdoor site environments.
• Able to communicate clearly with supervisors, workers, clients and vendors.
• Able to read basic technical drawings, work instructions or site sketches.
• Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, email and WhatsApp reporting skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality and follow-through.

• Class 3 driving licence will be an advantage but is not compulsory.

• Examine and test engines to identify problems (visual checks, power checks, scan-tool diagnostics, listening for unusual noise, etc.).
• Identify issues with the fuel, ignition, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, air intake, and engine mounting/suspension systems.
• For a thorough examination and measurement, disassemble engines or their parts (cylinder head, pistons, crankshaft, timing system).
• Reassemble and calibrate the engine in accordance with manuals and specifications after repairing or replacing worn-out and defective parts.
• Carry out routine maintenance, such as tune-ups, belt changes, valve clearance adjustments, oil and filter changes, and spark plug replacements.
• After repair, run the engine (idle and load tests), assess performance, and adjust for
• efficient operation and appropriate fuel usage.

• Trade or postsecondary education related to engines (such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical, automated, marine, or comparable engineering

Chemical Technician (Manufacturing/ Pharma/ GMP)

12 Months Contract

Our client aims at creating a new manufacturing concept consisting of a new generation of evolutive multi-product facilities, modular, adaptable, and agile, leveraging new disruptive technologies, to better address vaccine business challenges.

Job Purpose

• Operate and monitor the chemical production activities in the plant, ensuring that the product is manufactured within set production schedule and to the required standards of quality in a safe, efficient, responsible and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the different streams of the plant for their specific processes.
• Each of these processes comprises the following activities.

1. Handover checks computerised and/or manual.
2. Obtaining, following and completing process related documentation.
3. Pre and post batch cleaning of vessels and lines.
4. Pre batch checks.
5. Charging vessels either manually or via a pump.
6. Post charging checks and taking corrective action where necessary.
7. Adjusting and monitoring process conditions as required to start the process.
8. Monitoring process; both with computer and manually observing temperature, pressure, flow, pH, volume, colour, moisture content and adjusting the parameters accordingly.
9. Carrying out routine sampling and Bulk packing and testing of samples as required.
10. Recognise end point of the reaction and altering process parameter to stop reaction.
11. Transferring product to the next stage.

• Comply with HSE and quality policies and defined procedures. Bring out unsafe conditions and acts / procedures for correction.
• Record all operational and analytical data on the appropriate documents and inform the Shift Supervisor of any process abnormalities.
• Maintain product separation and accurate labelling of all documents, bags and vessels at all times.
• Carry out routine checks and scheduled cleaning procedures including cleanrooms.
• Request and collect raw materials and consumables, observe clean areas procedures, monitor raw materials stock and notify Shift Supervisor for any abnormalities.
• Notify Shift Supervisor of requirements for maintenance. Prepare equipment before maintenance work e.g. depressurizing, cleaning of lines and equipment, de-energizing, LOTO etc.
• Perform basic maintenance of equipment using tools such as TPM.
• At the Shift Supervisor's request, to carry out on-the-job training of other Chemical Technicians, incorporating cGMP and safety procedures.
• To observe cGMP and Health & Safety rules and regulations at work at all times in accordance with Company set standards.
• To be aware of the potentially hazardous nature of the chemicals in the area and must take the appropriate precautions when using them.
• Maintain housekeeping of the plant, daily API cleanrooms cleanings and provide suggestions for improvements.
• To operate ancillary facilities e.g. water system, tank farms, solvent recovery, salt crushing activities etc.

Requirements:

• Minimum NITEC or Higher NITEC in Chemical Processing or related
• Be prepared to work 12-hour shifts and overtime.
• Able to perform manual handling tasks including lifting of materials which are weights up to 25kg.
• Medically fit, and to be part of Company’s firefighter CERT team.
• Able to use process control systems for operation of plant equipment
• Familiar with operation of manufacturing equipment such reactors, centrifuges, filters, dryers etc
• Familiar and able to apply GMP in manufacturing processes
• Able to identify and manage hazards that may occur within biopharmaceutical plant

Job Description :

• Responsible for the execution of civil and structural design involving the preparation of calculations and review of structural design drawings in accordance to customers' specifications, applicable codes, standards and other generally accepted practices.
• Assist in producing tender specifications and design requirements for calling of tender contracts.
• Undertake detailed design of buildings and civil infrastructures.
• Work with Qualified Person (QP) and/or Senior Engineer to develop design scheme for civil and structural works, submissions to authorities, project planning, implementation and monitoring progress of project.
• Project coordination and liaison with stake holders on technical matters during construction stage.

Requirements :

• Candidates must possess minimum a Bachelor Engineering (Civil) degree recognised by PE Board.
• Engineers with minimum 3 years' relevant local experience in engineering design work with consultant firm.
• Conversant with latest design codes and authority requirements (Codes of practice directives, etc.).
• With good attitude towards quality of work and timeline.
• Able to work independently to support the Qualified Person and/or Senior Engineer.

Chemical Engineering Technician (Solvent Recovery)

• Location: Tuas
• (Company Transport / Transport Allowance $120 if candidate travel to work by themselves)
• Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm); Saturday (8am – 12pm) / Shift Work (Day: 8am – 8pm, Night: 8pm – 8am)
