The Adjunct Lecturer will teach and mentor first-year diploma students as they transition into various art and design disciplines, including Fine Art, 3D Design, Design & Media, and Fashion Studies. They will also guide students in developing drawing skills, creative thinking, and their own artistic style through studio-based learning.

The Adjunct Lecturer will be teaching the module,

Art & Design fundamentals for 13 teaching weeks from August to November.

This module introduces drawing as a key Fine Art practice, helping students to develop fundamental skills such as line, tone, proportion, perspective, and composition through observational and expressive drawing exercises. Working from still life, figures, objects, and spaces, students will learn to use drawing as a tool for observation, exploration, and creative expression.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Undertake contact/teaching hours per week for the above mentioned module.
2. Plan and deliver engaging drawing lessons that develop technical skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
3. Prepare lesson plans, project briefs, assessment criteria, and teaching materials.
4. Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support learning and improvement.
5. Mentor students in developing their personal drawing style and visual expression.
6. Monitor student progress and encourage reflective learning practices.
7. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the module.
8. Carry out academic administration duties, including attendance tracking, grading, moderation, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in Fine Art, Visual Design or related discipline; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching and professional experience, with expertise in drawing practices across traditional and contemporary approaches.
• Familiarity with current studio practices and pedagogies in drawing and visual arts, with proven ability to deliver hybrid (synchronous and asynchronous) teaching.
• Demonstrated skill in engaging diverse student cohorts through inclusive, exploratory, and practice-led approaches.
• Positive attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reflective approach to teaching, learning, and curriculum development.

• Conduct music and movement, piano and/or musical theatre lessons for preschoolers in a group setting
• Conduct classes at preschools and clubs around Singapore
• Conduct holiday camps
• Make lessons fun and inculcate a love for music in the students
• Assist in the planning of syllabus and preparing of lesson materials

Pre-requisites:

• Certified in music, early childhood or musical theatre
• Ability to work well with babies, toddlers and young children
• Good with classroom management
• Warm, bubbly, energetic and confident personality
• Responsible and proactive
• Have a passion for nurturing children
• Growth mindset - be constantly learning and looking to improve, and willing to accept feedback.
• Available on weekday afternoons (classes are usually held between 330-630pm)
• Commit for at least a year

Job Summary

You will conduct Art enrichment programmes at preschools, preparing and delivering engaging lessons that meet learning objectives and support children’s development aged 3 to 6 years.

Responsibilities

Planning, Teaching and Class Management

• Prepare and deliver curriculum that facilitates active learning and enriches learners’ knowledge
• Design and adapt learning activities to meet the diverse needs of children aged 3 to 6 years
• Demonstrate passion and interest in working with young children to foster engagement and curiosity

Monitoring, Assessment, Reporting and Recording

• Monitor and encourage each student’s development and progress throughout the programme
• Provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders on student progress regularly
• Maintain accurate and complete records of attendance, progress, and development as required

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum O / A level with good credits in English language (required to communicate effectively with students and parents)

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in the early childhood sector advantageous
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage children and collaborate with parents and colleagues
• Ability to nurture learners and build their self-esteem
• Effective classroom management skills
• Strong written and spoken English language skills

Other Information

• Candidates must commit for a minimum of 3 months

• Mark students' scripts in accordance with the Company's guidelines and rubrics
• Ensure marked scripts are returned in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and cater to students' educational needs in a timely manner.
• Be actively involved in the planning and preparation of curriculum and innovation of teaching methodology.
• To provide timely feedback to parents and address their concerns appropriately.
• To be tasked with 12 classes of various levels (Primary 1 - Secondary 4)

Qualifications:
