Job Summary:
This role involves Property Underwriting for large multinational, complex or specialist cases in the South East Asia and Australia market, within the agreed processes and risk appetite to achieve business development and retention targets. You will spend the majority of your time delivering underwriting decisions, contributing to business development activities and liaising with customers. You will deal with customers, brokers, network partners (as required) and third parties, working with other colleagues and be part of a team. You will have strong analytical, relationship management and communication skills.
Job Duties:
· Reviewing allocated large, complex or specialist cases and delivering underwriting decisions, following agreed processes at the designated authority level, in order to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite, for both direct multinational and reinsurance business.
· Identifying, recommending and leading or contributing to the development and exploitation of marketing activities and product development initiatives to increase penetration of existing customers and/or expand the business mix. Includingtravel around the MENA region as necessary.
· Proactively identifying and pursuing up-selling (add-ons) and cross-selling opportunities to maximise profitable revenue potential from new and renewal business and achieve agreed business targets.
· Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standard of customer satisfaction.
· Ensuring underwriting files are correct and accurate in accordance with internal guidelines.
· Assist with the general administration of the portfolio as a whole, assisting where necessary the wider underwriting team in submission filing, underwriting analysis preparation as well as post-bind activities including but not limited to premium booking, credit control and filing.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· 3 or more years of property underwriting experience in large & complex risks.
· Experience in global accounts underwriting will be an advantage.
· Good network of contacts with brokers and cedants.
· Strong interpersonal skills for use both internally and externally.
· Industry Professional Qualifications is an advantage.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft programs including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
