Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing the costs and contracts of construction projects to ensure they are completed within budget while meeting quality and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Measure quantities of materials and labor required.
- Prepare tender and contract documents.
- Evaluate contractor bids and quotations.
- Monitor project costs and cash flow throughout construction.
- Assess and process variations, claims, and change orders.
- Conduct site visits to verify work progress.
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
- Provide cost advice and value engineering recommendations to clients.
