(A) Job Summary:

Assists the Construction Manager in overseeing day-to-day site works.

(B) Essential Job Functions:

The Site Engineer is responsible, but not limited to, the following:

• Supervise & coordinate day-to-day site works, including sub-contract works, safety and quality control.
• Monitor the daily progress of work-on-site, identifying potential delays or issues and implementing necessary
• Coordination, supervision & monitoring of the progress of the project works on site, manpower mobilization, materials planning & ordering and adjustments to keep the project on track.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly progress reports for in-house, owner, and consultant submissions, highlighting key achievements and milestones.
• Produce weekly site progress reports and necessary submissions
• Attend meetings and conduct site inspections on work progress to ensure quality control by authority requirements.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment and ensure compliances according to standard rules and regulations
• Any ad-hoc duties as per assigned by Construction Manager/ Project Manager/ Project Director.

(C) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:

• Minimum 6 years’ engineering experience with a Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the PE Board or qualification / Degree in the relevant field subject to the acceptance of the SO.
• An RE cert, or having qualifications that meet the requirements to register as an RE.
• At least 3 years’ experience in main contractor on projects of similar scale, nature and complexity.
• Experience in bored piling works preferably for 5 years, and/or,
• Experience managing utility diversions, or, involved in such works, preferably for 5 years.
• Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for the Senior position.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and contract terms thoroughly.
• Prepare cost estimations, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and detailed cost analyses, including sourcing and assessing supplier quotations and making procurement recommendations.
• Develop subcontract documentation in line with project requirements and specifications.
• Carry out measurement and valuation of completed works, including progress claims, variation orders, and final account settlement with subcontractors.
• Draft and manage contractual correspondence, ensuring timely submission of claims in accordance with contract requirements.
• Maintain organized records, documentation, and contract registers for proper tracking and compliance.

• Diploma/ Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, marine/ coastal, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, with hands-on experience in measurement, cost control, and contract administration.
• Good negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capable of working independently, managing tight deadlines, and adapting to fast-paced site environments.

• Long-term investigation of defect issues may require extensive work with shift engineering and other functional areas.  

• Evaluates products to ensure they meet the required design and performance specifications.  

• Conducts research to assess process adjustment requirements and recommends process improvements or equipment changes needed to efficiently manufacture new product or part types. 

• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.

• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Science is required
