JOB OVERVIEW

The Purchasing Representative will focus on driving revenue growth through new and existing vendors. This role involves researching targeted/strategic vendors, increasing the vendor base, and developing relationships with potential new vendors. The Purchasing Representative will also be responsible for managing and growing existing vendor revenue opportunities while ensuring a seamless supply chain process to meet the demands of our customers.

JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Vendor Development and Relationship Management

• Actively develop new vendors and maintain strong relationships with both existing and potential vendors.
• Evaluate and qualify vendors based on reliability, quality of parts (ensuring they are not counterfeit), and competitive pricing.

2. Sourcing and Supply Chain Management

• Source electronics components and key parts to support the demands of our end customers.
• Ensure timely delivery of parts from vendors and monitor supply chain performance.

3. Collaboration with Sales Team

• Work closely with the Sales team to understand customer inquiries and requirements.
• Proactively provide offer lists from vendors to the Sales team to identify potential sales opportunities.

4. Market Research and Purchasing Decisions

• Monitor market trends, industry developments, technological advancements, and competitor activities to make informed purchasing decisions.

5. Problem Resolution and Issue Management

• Resolve supplier issues such as quality control, shipment delays, and product defects.

JOB REQUIREMENT(S)

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or buyer roles within the trading industry is preferred but not necessary.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with electronic components and key parts such as memory, CPU, SSD, GPU, etc., will be advantageous.

***The salary range indicated refers to the base salary only and does not include the monthly incentive, which is awarded based on both company and individual performance.

The Job:

• Manage incoming vessels' requisitions, quotations, placing orders, and manage records

• Liaise with vessels, makers, forwarders, and agents for timely and economical delivery

• Assist the Superintendents in the management of budgets

• Any other Ad Hoc assigns

Requirements:

• Min GCE ‘O’ Level or related certificates in Procurement/Supply Chain

• Min 2-3 years of procurement experience in Ship management

• An independent individual who works well under pressure

• A good team player able to interact with people from all levels
