Job Description:

1. Review of machinery and equipment specification, meeting technical specification. Interpretation of classification rules to address to review comment.

2. Familiar with equipment specification and their installation requirement such as main engines, generators, propulsion, gearbox, hydraulic operated equipment, HVAC, refrigeration and others.

3. Familiar with marine piping system such as bilge, ballast, tank gauging, cooling, fuel oil, sanitary , fire protection and others. Able to select pump types, compressor, pipe material, thickness, valves and pipe fittings that meet pressure rating and functionality.

4. Liaise with designer and vendors to develop pipe schematic drawing, machineries space equipment layout and equipment installation plan.

5. Review of Mechanical interfacing for major equipment such as main engine, gear box and propeller shafting and others.

6. Working with a team of engineers to develop the detail 3D ship model for production. Job involving interfacing and clash check on routing of pipe systems, HVAC, electrical system installation and others. Generate MTO for pipe routing, fittings and pipe spool for production.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree in Marine engineering or diploma in marine engineering
2. At least 5 years relevant working experience in shipyard
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD
4. Good computer skills
5. Understand shipbuilding and project processes. Able to comprehend the technical specification and discuss projects with customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• To ensure all the maintenance work is carried out systematically, efficiently & safely.

• By improving existing preventive maintenance system thus reduce maintenance cost and improve performance of equipment.

• To create, update and maintain all SOPs and all ISO documents & MOM equipment registration.

• To be the initiator and coordinator of MOC for any addition, modification and replacement in the system.

• To assist the Department Manager and Supervisor to co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities.

• To troubleshoot Mechanical Equipment / Systems’ problems when it runs abnormally malfunction.

• To work closely with the operations team for daily, weekly and monthly maintenance programmed to maintain all equipment running efficiently, safely and smoothly.

• To train all technicians and staff on equipment maintenance and monitor the 5S and TPM activities carried out in the section.

• To assist the Department Manager to propose and implement action plans to rectify faults occurring in the system/processes.

• To be involved in new project management from time to time and be responsible for document preparation and other paper works, as well as co-ordination with contractors & Vendors.

• To manage all Mechanical & electrical Instruments spare parts and tools.

• To monitor the implementation of all EHS matters within the section.

• To be responsible for document management.
  

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and/or equivalent.

• At least 2 years of experience working in mechanical, preferably within large-scale industrial (palm oil mill, flour and sugar process manufacturing, steel industry, mining and clay industry or waste management facilities.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation, and maintenance, particularly in industrial settings.

• Proficient in CAD software, CMMS software, and other engineering design tools.
