The DiSTAP programme addresses deep problems in food production in Singapore and the world by developing a suite of impactful and novel analytical, genetic and biosynthetic technologies. DiSTAP is one of the five Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).  The research engineer will join an interdisciplinary team of chemists, engineers and plant biologists in the development, modification and characterization of functional conjugated polymers with unique optical properties that could potentially be used for cell imaging. Job Description:

• General Failure Analysis Engineer
• Perform sample preparation (cross section, parallel lapping, chemical decapsulation), use of ion miller, FIB and other preparation techniques;
• Perform failure analysis using various tools and instruments such as SEM, EDX, 2D/3D X-ray;
• Communicate with customer for selecting proper analytical technique and data interpretation;
• Prepare analytical reports;
• Assist in new failure analysis techniques development;
• Perform routine instrument preventive maintenance and laboratory housekeeping

Job Requirements:

• At least Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering; Material Science Engineering; Science & Technology; with a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.

• Candidates without experience are welcome to apply;
• Must be able to perform FA study individually and work well in teams;
• Maintain good 6S practice during daily operation;
• Experience in FA techniques including: Sample preparation (cross section, parallel lapping, chemical decapsulation), X-Ray, SEM and FIB would be a bonus;
• Experience in Wafer Fab/Semiconductor/LED/Solar/HDD industries would be useful;
• A team player who can be independent, hardworking with a persevering attitude.
