Purpose of the post
We are seeking a skilled Research Assistant to support the development and validation of an advanced preterm birth (PTB) screening tool that integrates AI-based analysis of vaginal microbiome, miRNAs, maternal medical history, and demographic factors. The successful candidate will focus on sample preparation and analysis to identify microbial composition and activity associated with PTB using Desorption Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (DESI-MS) and 16S rRNA sequencing. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge DESI-MS technology, develop expertise in high-throughput Illumina sequencing, and contribute to impactful translational research. Main duties and responsibilities
This role is ideal for an individual passionate about maternal-fetal health and translational research, seeking to understand molecular and microbial factors driving preterm birth. The Research Assistant will:

(1)    Prepare and process biological samples for microbiome and biomarker analysis;
(2)    Conduct DESI-MS experiments to profile microbial composition and activity linked to PTB;
(3)    Perform 16S rRNA sequencing, including sample preparation, library construction, and quality control;
(4)    Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards;
(5)    Troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols to improve throughput and data quality;
(6)    Collaborate with bioinformaticians, clinicians, and interdisciplinary researchers to achieve project goals;
(7)    Assist in preparation of reports, presentations, and scientific manuscripts;
(8)    Manage day-to-day project activities and support laboratory operations;
(9)    Perform other duties as assigned by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should have:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or related fields;
2. Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, sequencing workflows);
3. Familiarity with mass spectrometry (DESI-MS preferred) or other analytical chemistry techniques; an opportunity to train overseas in the technique is available;
4. Knowledge of 16S rRNA sequencing and microbiome analysis is a plus;
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to document research clearly;
6. Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Accounts Assistant (AP)  $2,000 - $2,400 Basic

• Working Location: Keppel South Central

• Working days and hours: 5 days Monday to Friday | 9am - 5:30pm (Wed/ Thu - Work From Home)

Responsibilities

• Responsible in assisting in Accounts, ensure accounting deadlines are met

• Handle monthly billing (Debit Note & Sales Invoices)

• Review AP Invoices in Bill-one (a digital invoice management), supporting document attached and cross check with invoice details, reject invoice if is wrongly billed.

• Monitor for charges made on corporate card matching, collect receipts ,retrieve invoices from consultants or billing entity.

• Maintain financial filing system that is easily accessible.

• Oversee the AP cycle: Manage invoice processing, payment runs, expense claims, and vendor reconciliation.

• Assist with tax & audit process

• Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks support when necessary

Requirement

• Minimum Nitec and above in Accounting or equivalent, Diploma in Accounting, or CAT/LCCI certification.

• Prepare plans, documents, and bill of quantities for supplier quotations and pricing analysis.
• Source, compile, and evaluate supplier/vendor quotations based on tender requirements.
• Responsible for detailed breakdown pricing, including material and labour cost estimation.
• Handle tenders including scope of work, pricing schedules, and non-material requirements.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• At least 2 years of Project Tendering/Costing experience.
• Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

Job Summary

Lead and supervise M&E teams across multiple locations, coordinating on-site works, training new employees, managing maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, and ensuring timely response to client urgent calls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate M&E teams across multiple sites to ensure effective execution of mechanical and electrical works
• Collaborate with the M&E Department and main contractors to schedule and monitor progress of on-site M&E works
• Train new employees to build team capability and ensure adherence to operational standards
• Prepare detailed service reports documenting maintenance and repair activities
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime
• Respond promptly to urgent client calls to resolve issues efficiently
• Conduct maintenance works at various sites, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Apply knowledge of ACMV systems to support M&E operations (advantageous skill)

Required competencies and certifications

• Experience in mechanical and electrical (M&E) works, including electrical and ACMV systems

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in ACMV systems (not essential but advantageous for role effectiveness)

Other Information

• Work schedule: 6 days per week

• Oversee QA/QC, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and contractors in meetings for system energization and startup activities.
• Ensure systems operate per project specifications, conducting Root Cause Analysis and resolving technical issues.
• Interpret and apply Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and LOTO safety procedures.
• Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and communicate with the Commissioning Agent for issue resolution.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years in electrical and mechanical commissioning relevant experience in the Construction/M&E industry.
• Strong teamwork, perseverance, diligence, integrity, and initiative.
