About the Role

DB&B is seeking a Computational Designer / Design Technologist to support the transformation of our design workflow through automation, computational design, and AI-assisted processes. This role sits between design, technology, and production , working closely with designers, technical teams, and project managers to improve efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and explore new digital design methods. The ideal candidate understands architecture or interior design workflows and has strong programming or scripting skills to develop tools that enhance productivity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design Workflow Automation

● Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline design and production workflows.

● Automate repetitive drafting, modelling, and visualization tasks.

● Support designers with parametric and generative design tools.

Computational Design

● Create parametric models and algorithmic design systems for spatial planning and design exploration.

● Develop automated workplace planning or test-fit tools for early stage design studies.

Software Integration

Work with the studio’s digital toolset, including:

● AutoCAD

● SketchUp

● Autodesk 3ds Max

● V-Ray

Integrate scripting and automation within these environments.

AI and Emerging Technologies

● Explore AI-assisted design tools and generative workflows.

● Develop prompt libraries and automation pipelines for concept generation and presentation workflows.

Knowledge Sharing

● Support training and capability development across the design team.

● Document workflows and digital tools for studio use.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out technical design to meet project requirements
• Prepare design calculations & drawings for submissions
• Provide general technical support to the in-house operations team
• Technical marketing of structural strengthening products
• Attend meetings with clients to understand project requirements
• Accountable for effective co-ordination of projects as assigned
• Ensure all safety and quality assurance procedures and standards are followed

Requirements:

• Must possess at least a Degree in Engineering (Civil) and is familiar with the British and American Design Standards, and Eurocodes
• Able to perform structural analysis using design software such as STAADPro, ETABS, Prokon etc
• Proficient in AutoCAD application
• Good command of spoken and written English 
• Possess initiative, analytical thinking abilities and able to work both independently and as a team
• Possess positive attitude and interpersonal skills
• Minimum of two years' experience in local consultancy firms will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Solution Design

• Support the development of new customers, either with existing client contact or by supporting the sales team for RFQ, site visit and presentation
• Analyse customer requirements and support Q&A sessions
• Design and propose warehousing solutions according to customer needs
• Evaluate resources, MHE, investments, EDI, automation and innovation opportunities, etc.
• Provide cost analysis and rates using cost model
• Build RFQ technical proposal and present the solution to customer

Project Management

We seek a creative 3D Designer passionate about event and creative concept design to produce innovative visualizations and support execution for multiple high-profile events and decor projects.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply the agency's vision and design aesthetics to ensure consistent design sensibility across events and exhibitions
• Conduct research and develop innovative creative concepts that align with client brand guidelines and standards
• Produce high-quality 3D renderings, visualizations, and animations of event and exhibition sets and environments
• Create accurate site plans and floor plans for event setups

• Excellent attention to detail and good project and time management skills

As a Design & Build firm, we are seeking a Senior Architectural Designer who can bridge the gap between creative vision and on-site execution. This role is pivotal in ensuring our residential projects are not only architectura ly stunning but also technica ly sound, compliant, and efficiently built.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Pre-Construction

• Project Initiation: Take the "brief" to identify clients’ needs and develop feasibility reports and design proposals.
• Sustainable Design: Develop ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, the building’s usage, and environmental impact.
• Technical Drafting: Independently prepare plans and specifications for the construction and/or alteration of residential buildings.
• Blueprint Management: Produce detailed blueprints and implement any necessary technical corrections.
• Specification Authoring: Compile comprehensive project specifications to guide the procurement and construction phases.
  

2. Construction & Builder Oversight

• Quality Control: Oversee the project from start to finish to ensure high-quality, innovative, and functional design.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure al works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations.
• Site Management: Conduct regular on-site visits to check on project status and provide detailed reports.
• Site Collaboration: Cooperate and liaise closely with construction professionals to resolve technical issues during the build.

3. Administrative & General

• Mobility: Travel to various project sites as and when necessary.
• Flexibility: Handle any other ad hoc tasks assigned to support the firm.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Degree or Masters in Architecture from a reputable university.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Technical Skills:

1. Design Software: High proficiency in ArchiCAD, Rhino, AutoCAD, and Revit.
2. Visualization: Experience with Rendering tools (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape) and Adobe Creative Suite.

Remuneration & Benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design projects to ensure timely and quality delivery
• Assist the Project Management Team in Mechanical & Electrical planning works
• Liaise with clients and consultants to clarify project requirements and ensure alignment on deliverables
• Support project engineering activities for mechanical and electrical systems to meet design specifications
• Collaborate with the costing team to verify accuracy and efficiency of engineering designs for projects
• Supervise and ensure works are in accordance with design, specifications and codes of practice
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, testing and commissioning (T&C) check sheets, and other related documents for M&E related works with the team
• Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants to prepare and submit shop drawings on schedule
• Coordinate and prepare technical submissions with suppliers and/or subcontractors
• Facilitate technical discussions with various stakeholders to resolve technical / site issues

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Min. 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry in Singapore
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of MEP principles, methods, and technologies
• Experience in MEP systems installation and commissioning on High-Risk Fitting-Out projects will be a bonus
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Familiar with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance practices
• Proficient in AutoCAD software
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
