About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations leader to establish and lead a newly created Trading Operations function in Singapore. This role will play a critical part in supporting the company’s global follow-the-sun operating model and APAC growth strategy.
Based in Singapore, you will oversee regional Trade Desk and Operations support teams responsible for supporting real-time trading platforms and market data services. You will lead operational support, incident management, platform monitoring, and customer escalations while working closely with global Engineering, Infrastructure, Network, and SRE teams across multiple time zones.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you will help build the operational capability, team culture, and processes for a world-class exchange and trading support function in APAC.
The position requires strong operational leadership, incident management expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to make critical real-time decisions in a fast-paced trading environment.
Due to global coverage requirements, working hours may occasionally shift to support overlapping regional coverage, with some early morning schedules required.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership & Team Build-Out
- Lead the setup and development of the Singapore Operations function
- Hire, onboard, and mentor Operations and Trade Desk team members
- Define operational processes, shift structures, and support procedures
- Partner closely with global Operations teams to ensure seamless handovers across regions
Incident Management & Platform Support
- Lead incident response, escalation management, and stakeholder communications during production issues
- Coordinate root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
- Drive operational improvements to enhance platform stability and service reliability
- Act as the primary escalation point during APAC trading coverage hours
Trading & Customer Support
- Oversee operational support for low-latency trading platforms and market data systems
- Support order management, trade investigations, system monitoring, and customer queries
- Manage exchange operational processes including trading incidents and platform communications
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Network, and Product teams on platform enhancements and operational readiness
- Support testing, deployment activities, disaster recovery exercises, and operational change management
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across APAC, US, and EMEA regions
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Operations team
- Conduct performance reviews and support career development initiatives
- Foster a strong operational culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure operational processes align with regulatory and compliance obligations
- Support incident reporting, audit requirements, and operational governance standards
Requirements
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Trading Operations, Exchange Operations, Technical Operations, or Financial Services Operations
- 4+ years of people leadership experience
- Experience supporting trading platforms, capital markets systems, or financial exchange environments
- Strong background in incident management and operational support within mission-critical environments
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of SQL and UNIX/Linux environments
- Experience troubleshooting production and platform-related issues
- Familiarity with APIs, market data systems, and low-latency trading environments is highly preferred
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies
