What The Role Is
REACH is the Singapore Government's feedback and engagement unit, dedicated to ensuring that the voices of all Singaporeans - including those from hard-to-reach and under-represented communities - are heard and considered in the policymaking process. In this role, you will design and execute meaningful engagement initiatives that connect the government with a diverse range of Singaporeans, gathering feedback and sentiments on national issues, key events, and policies that shape everyday life.
What You Will Be Working On
- Conceptualise and develop engagement strategies tailored to an assigned demographic segment, identifying relevant topics and the most effective ways to involve them in national conversations.
- Plan and execute Listening Points (LPs) - qualitative dipstick polls that gather on-the-ground sentiments on current affairs, government policies, and hot-button issues - managing end-to-end logistics, questionnaire design, publicity materials, and outreach channels.
- Design and facilitate dialogues, focus group discussions, and other engagement formats that allow citizens to share their views in greater depth on issues of national interest, including key events such as Budget and National Day Rally.
- Work with partners from the public, private, and social sectors to extend REACH's outreach, particularly to under-reached communities.
- Analyse feedback and sentiments gathered from engagements and LPs, and produce clear and insightful reports to inform policy decisions.
- Collaborate across government agencies to ensure feedback is surfaced to the right stakeholders and contributes meaningfully to the policymaking process.
What We Are Looking For
- A genuine interest in public engagement and a desire to ensure that diverse Singaporean voices shape national policies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from varied backgrounds.
- Good analytical and writing skills, with the ability to distil qualitative feedback into clear, concise reports.
- Willingness to innovate and experiment with engagement formats to reach a broad spectrum of Singaporeans.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work flexible hours, including weekends, as required.
- Proficiency in other languages (e.g. Malay, Tamil, Chinese) languages will be advantageous.
- Experience in event management, community outreach, or media relations is a plus. Fresh graduates with relevant backgrounds are welcome to apply.
