The URA Strategic Research (SR) department drives research into the planning and design implications of future trends, technologies and challenges.
This opportunity will be under SR.
What You Will Be Working On
- Work with SR planners to identify and develop new research topics and projects by conducting background research, literature reviews and fieldwork. Topics may include health and well-being, liveability, and future mobility.
- Conduct scan of international policies, understanding policy context and potential applications in Singapore
- Support SR planners to plan and execute research engagements with stakeholders, and analyse and synthesise findings to inform policy and planning recommendations
- Conduct scan on innovative research ideas for exhibition content development and identify stakeholders to engage
The intern is expected to reap the following learning outcomes:
- Develop better understanding of land use planning in Singapore and key planning-related issues such as health and well-being, liveability and mobility.
- Acquire practical knowledge and experience in conducting research on a wide range of planning issues and applying research outcomes to inform agencies’ plans and policies
- Develop skills in stakeholder engagement and management
What We Are Looking For
- Internship Period: May - Aug 2026. Full-time internship preferred.
- Undergraduates/Postgraduate students pursuing Architecture, Geography, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Sociology or related social science disciplines.
