The Vice President, IT Operations & Security is responsible for leadingday-to-day IT operations, cybersecurity execution, and infrastructure reliability across the organization.
Reporting to the Head of Technology, this role ensures that secure, stable, and compliant systems are delivered to support adviser operations and client services, while aligning with the broader technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Service Delivery
- Own end-to-end IT operations including infrastructure, cloud, networks, and end-user support
- Ensure system uptime, performance, and scalability (target: 99.9%+)
- Manage incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL-aligned)
- Oversee service desk and user support functions
- Drive automation and operational efficiency initiatives
Cybersecurity Execution
- Implement and operate the cybersecurity strategy defined by Head of Technology / CISO (if applicable)
- Manage:
- Security monitoring (SIEM / SOC)
- Vulnerability management
- Endpoint and network security
- Ensure protection of sensitive client data (NRIC, passport, financial documents)
- Lead remediation of security findings and incidents
IT Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Execute controls aligned with:
- MAS TRM guidelines
- PDPA requirements
- Support audits (internal/external/regulatory)
- Maintain and enforce:
- Access controls
- Data protection policies
- Security standards
- Monitor and manage IT third-party/vendor risks
Secure Infrastructure & Platform Operations
- Operate and secure:
- Adviser portals
- Document upload systems (KYC, certificates)
- Ensure:
- Encryption (at rest & in transit)
- Identity & access management (IAM)
- Work with engineering teams on secure deployment practices (DevSecOps)
IT Incident Response & Resilience
- Lead operational response to:
- System outages
- Security incidents
- Execute:
- Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
- Conduct regular drills and post-incident reviews
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead IT operations and security teams
- Work closely with:
- Engineering / product teams
- Risk & compliance
- Business stakeholders
- Provide regular reporting to Head of Technology on:
- System performance
- Risk posture
- Security incidents
Requirements
Experience
- 10–15+ years in IT operations and/or cybersecurity
- 5+ years in leadership role (Director / AVP / VP)
- Experience in financial services / insurance / advisory environments
- Strong familiarity with MAS TRM and PDPA
Technical Skills
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure preferred)
- Security tools:
- SIEM (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel)
- EDR/XDR
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Network and endpoint security
- ITSM tools (ServiceNow, etc.)
Certifications (preferred)
- CISSP / CISM / CISA
- Cloud security certifications (AWS/Azure)
- ITIL certification
