Overview
Our client, a Japanese life insurance firm, is seeking a highly motivated professional to support strategic innovation initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The role will focus on identifying market developments, engaging with external ecosystems, evaluating emerging business opportunities, and supporting collaboration projects with industry partners.
The successful candidate will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to generate actionable insights, foster strategic relationships, and contribute to business growth initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesMarket Intelligence & Trend Analysis
- Monitor developments across financial services, healthcare, technology, and adjacent sectors within Asia-Pacific markets.
- Assess emerging trends related to artificial intelligence, digital transformation, data-driven business models, financial innovation, and technology-enabled customer solutions.
- Conduct market analysis and synthesize findings into executive-ready reports, presentations, and recommendations.
- Track competitive landscapes, regulatory developments, and evolving business models relevant to future growth opportunities.
External Engagement & Partnership Development
- Develop relationships with key participants across the innovation landscape, including startups, corporates, technology providers, investors, research institutions, and public-sector organizations.
- Maintain awareness of emerging companies and solutions that may present collaboration opportunities.
- Participate in industry networking activities and establish connections with relevant stakeholders across the region.
- Support partnership assessment and engagement efforts with identified organizations.
Ecosystem & Industry Participation
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, forums, innovation showcases, and professional networking events.
- Gather intelligence from industry discussions and share key insights with internal stakeholders.
- Assist in organizing workshops, executive briefings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Contribute to initiatives that strengthen the organization's presence within the regional innovation community.
Innovation Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Support the evaluation, development, and execution of pilot projects with external organizations.
- Coordinate communication among internal teams and external partners throughout project lifecycles.
- Track project milestones, risks, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Prepare status updates and post-project evaluations for management review.
Strategic Support & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Translate market insights into practical recommendations that support strategic planning and business development efforts.
- Contribute to discussions regarding future growth areas, customer needs, and innovation opportunities.
- Support preparation of strategic materials, management presentations, and business updates.
- Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders on various cross-functional initiatives.
RequirementsQualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Approximately 3–7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial services
- Technology and digital innovation
- Consulting
- Healthcare-related industries
- Corporate strategy or business development
- Professional proficiency in both Japanese and English to communicate with the Japanese speaking stakeholders efficiently.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and AI-enabled productivity tools.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will be advantageous:
- Market research, strategy, or partnership activities within banking, payments, digital assets, fintech, or related sectors.
- Innovation, transformation, or customer-focused initiatives within insurance or technology-driven service environments.
- Business development, ecosystem engagement, or commercial strategy in healthcare, wellness, aging-related services, or digital health.
- Consulting experience involving growth strategy, transformation programs, or new venture development.
- Innovation, venture-building, startup engagement, accelerator programs, corporate venture initiatives, or open innovation activities.
- Experience working with cross-border stakeholders within multicultural and regional business environments.
