What The Role Is
You will serve as the principal staff advisor and coordinator to the Formation, leading the planning, organisation, direction and evaluation of all safety efforts. You will drive compliance across all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programmes, analyse divisional safety performance, and recommend improvements to strengthen the Command's safety culture.
What You Will Be Working On
- Assist in crafting safety policies and safety-related regulations, instructions
- Monitor the safety objectives and goals across all subunits on a monthly basis, including consolidation of subunit safety performance for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Develop, coordinate and direct safety programmes for accident prevention purposes, and monitor the effectiveness of these programmes
- Conduct internal audits for subunits and training inspections on an annual basis in preparation for external audits
- Conduct evaluations, inspections and safety investigations of safety programmes and activities
- Develop recommendations for corrective measures
- Ensure timely update and review of the safety regulations, standing orders and instructions
- Participate as the Safety Expert for the introduction of new equipment
Challenge(s) - Navigating the dynamic and diverse work environment, which executes a wide array of operations, training and capability development activities
- Staying current with the latest safety developments across the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Army to ensure that divisional safety management remains aligned with both Army and SAF requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Education in any field
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in safety execution and safety management is preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management standards or equivalent safety management frameworks is advantageous
- Strong analytical skills to assess safety performance data, identify trends and recommend actionable improvements
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage competing priorities across a diverse range of training and operational activities
- Adaptable and resilient
