Job Description

Wood has an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our team in Singapore, supporting the delivery of Pharmaceutical projects (API & BioPharma), downstream Oil & Gas and Chemical plants.

In this role, you will contribute to process engineering activities across Concept, basic design & detailed design project phases, support site assessment, new product introduction. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the development of safe, compliant and efficient process designs, while gaining exposure to a wide range of technical and project delivery activities.

Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer, you will support the delivery of process engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will:

  • Assist in delivering process design work in compliance with relevant standards, HSEQ standards, project procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver process engineering (including automation) design, equipment commissioning and process performance qualifications associated with NPI and capital projects (manufacturing and utilities related).
  • Support the development of key process deliverables, including BFD/ PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, and equipment sizing calculations
  • Perform process simulations and assist with preparation of design documentation and datasheets
  • Identify and implement improvement to plant facilities, processes, methods of operations and turnaround, troubleshoot for process and equipment problems to minimize safety and quality risk as well as to ensure greater operational efficiency.
  • Initiate, coordinate, plan and participate in plant modification activities, in the implementation of capital projects, project commissioning and tie-in.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and other process safety and technical assessments
  • Ensure deliverables are prepared and checked in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including piping, mechanical, and instrumentation engineers
  • Interface with vendors and support procurement activities as required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid technical foundation in process engineering and a willingness to learn and develop within a project environment. Key requirements include:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (Bachelor’s or equivalent)
  • with 3-10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, chemical or petrol-chemical industry
  • Process design experience in API/ Bio-Pharma/ Vaccine/R&D as well as support systems like process / technical utilities, CIP / SIP, decontamination / sterilization.
  • Hands on experience in process simulation softwares like Aspen Hysis, SuperPro, Schedule-pro etc.
  • Flexibility to work at client site, travel as required.
  • Understanding of industry standards and basic process safety principles
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow professionally
