Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team developing cutting edge energy efficient underwater navigation systems. The successful candidate will work on implementing and optimizing localization algorithms, developing energy-aware navigation planning systems, and conducting real world validation of underwater autonomous navigation technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design energy efficient navigation systems for autonomous underwater vehicles
- Develop and implement underwater navigation algorithms
- Create simulation environments and conduct testing of navigation algorithms
- Analyse and optimize navigation system performance for energy consumption and accuracy
- Collaborate with team members on algorithm development and testing
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Support field testing and data collection activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics and current modelling
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Familiarity with underwater sensors (DVL, sonar) and simulation environments will be an added advantage
