Good Pay for Quants, Benefits Could Use Work
WorldQuant has some pretty great compensation for quantitative roles, especially if you're a performing Quantitative Researcher focused on algo trading strategies. The salaries are competitive for the hedge fund industry, which is a big plus. However, the benefits package, particularly health insurance, isn't as robust as the cash compensation, which is a common complaint in the New York City office.
Working as a Quantitative Researcher here, the base salary is really strong, especially for the hedge fund industry. Your bonus can be significant, which helps a lot living in the New York City office.
But honestly, the health insurance has high deductibles. You don't get some of the common perks you'd see at other big finance firms. The non-cash benefits just aren't as good as the pay.
Re-evaluate the health benefits and consider adding more modern perks. Focus on bringing the non-cash compensation up to par with the strong salaries offered to Quantitative Researcher roles.
