Decent pay, but job security feels shaky

It's an okay place to work, especially if you're early in your career. The overall vibe is good, but recent changes make me a little nervous about staying long-term.

Pros

For a Supply Chain Analyst in the electronics distribution industry, the base pay and benefits are actually pretty decent. I also liked the hybrid work schedule, which helped with my work-life balance.

Cons

Job security isn't what it used to be. There's been a lot of restructuring and layoffs, especially in the Tempe, AZ office, which makes you constantly wonder if your role is safe. It's tough to plan long-term here.

Advice to Management

Be more transparent about future plans and try to reduce the constant worry about layoffs. It impacts morale significantly.

Job Security Feels Okay, But Watch Out
Pros: For a Supply Chain Analyst, the work generally feels pretty stable. There's always demand in electronics distribution, so my day-to-day tasks were consistent. It's a big corporate company, so they don't just cut people without notice usually.
Cons: Despite consistent work, the company does go through reorganizations sometimes. You hear whispers about layoffs in the semiconductor industry, which can make you nervous. Especially for roles in the Phoenix, AZ office, it's not always super clear where you stand.
Advice to Management: Management should be more transparent about potential reorganizations. It would really help with employee morale and job security concerns.

Okay Work-Life Balance, Tough for Logistics Roles
Pros: For a big corporate company like Avnet, the benefits package is pretty solid. As a Logistics Coordinator, I usually had fairly predictable hours, which helps with planning. There's stability in working for a global leader in electronic components distribution.
Cons: Honestly, the work-life balance can get pretty stretched, especially when we're short-staffed in the Phoenix, AZ office. You often have to put in extra time to cover everything, and there's not much work flexibility for onsite operational roles like mine. It's a busy environment and burnout is real.
Advice to Management: Please consider better staffing levels, especially for critical onsite operational roles. This would significantly improve work-life balance for many employees and help prevent burnout.

Okay Culture, Needs a Modern Touch
Pros: I'd say the team collaboration is pretty good, especially within my sales pod. As an Inside Sales Representative in the Tempe, AZ office, I always felt supported by my immediate colleagues. It's a really stable company in the electronics distribution industry.
Cons: The corporate culture can feel very old-school, which sometimes makes things tough. There's not much flexibility for new ideas, and getting big changes approved is a slow process. It sometimes feels like bureaucracy slows everything down.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace more modern approaches and listen to feedback from newer generations. Foster innovation and streamline decision-making processes.
