• Optimize or design new production processes in cooperation with product engineers, to enable product quality and yield.

Position Objective:

PgP1/EPP is the plant product engineering department for Robert Bosch Car Multimedia in Penang. In general, PgP1/EPP provides dedicated product technical support to the production in our Penang plant and acts as an interface between the product development and production. Furthermore, our section supports failure investigation for line failures of the products as well as customer complaint investigation training. The focus is on these three domains of the product technology:

• Electronics Hardware of the product
• Software aspect of the product
• Mechanical aspects of the product

Job Responsibilities:

• As Lead and Product Owner for a product family, responsible to coordinate, address & solve all product technical issues arise from manufacturing environment until product end of life (EOL).
• To drive for First Pass Yield (F.P.Y) improvement activities in the plant to ensure target achieved.
• To support to provide the breakpoint during Engineering Change Notice (ECN) cut in, data mining when there is issue rise and also to lead and coordinate the team in cross functional together to resolve the issue rise and also to lead and coordinate the team in cross functional together to resolve the issue.
• To be the first layer person to deal with the Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI), Customer complaint (0KM), field failure topic related to process issue with Plant Quality (QMM) or any extended work bench. To liaise with product engineering group for (TF) true failure & liaise with TEF for (NTF) not true failure study and root cause determination.
• Responsible to analyze and investigate Fall Out Rate (FOR) from production lines, identify root-cause or issue owner and follow-up measures to eliminate line FOR issues.
• To issue the component related topic to Part Quality Assurance (PQA) and follow up closely of the issue with PQA until closure.
• Provide technical support to QMM in Failure Analysis (FA) including 0km and field return analysis and perform the internal investigation on process related topic.
• Responsible to raise “Quality Alert” / “Perhatian” as for containment action whenever quality issues arise and complain by customer and also to ensure provide briefing and training to production. To control and monitor “Perhatian” database is necessary.
• Responsible to raise Problem Solving Sheet (PSS) to problem owner for systematically to identify and solve the problem which related to assembly processes, testing related, as well as machines / jigs downtime in final assembly and do follow up meeting with core team members.
• As part of centralization for creating trial order whenever there is need on release new HW or SW that required for trial before implement to production. To do follow and ensure all trial orders are fulfill and closure.
• To maintain and sustain debug documents whenever is necessary and new information update if needed. Debug guideline is document that described the details on the steps to perform troubleshooting for failure parts during production processes / testing. Assembling/dismantling of parts with proper guidelines and also guideline for repairing.
• To be key driver in problem solving on quality issues encountered in final assembly operations which include PDI, 0 km defects as well as field failures.
• Support in preparation of technical presentation material to management and customer. Co-operate with other relevant departments in plant, to meet section goals and objectives. Provide support in engineering change, 8D reports related to plant.
• To control and manage both Incoming Part Quality Check (IPQC) / Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) activities to ensure both activities been handled in correct and effective way.
• To attend for any internal / customer audit and provide relevant answer.
