Job Description
-Draft, review, negotiate a range of contracts for company’s business.
Legal advisory on compliance matters such as Competition Law, Data Protection, Labor, Consumer Protection, Intellectual Property, Anti-Corruption and Business Ethics.
-Manage compliance issues, conduct compliance training and other compliance related matters.
-Manage disputes like litigation, arbitration, mediation etc and coordinate with external counsels.
-Identify and analyze legal trends and new legislations which are related to the company's business.
-Support the General Counsel on all other Legal & Compliance related matters.
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Law and admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
At least 8 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Worked in law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
Excellent communications skills and proficient in English (written and oral).
Independent at work and is highly motivated.
Excellent interpersonal skills and is resourceful.
Possess commercial acumen.
Working knowledge of litigation (both civil and criminal). Although Counsel will not be expected to attend court (as Advocate), he/she should have good knowledge to advise company and instruct/manage external lawyers.
Experience in handling legal compliance risk issues.

Responsibilities:

Specific Skills and Attributes:
1. Minimum 3 years of working experience in a legal firm and / or as in-house counsel for the post of assistant manager OR minimum 3 years of working experience for the post of senior executive.
2. Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills with high level of integrity and confidentiality.
3. Analytical, meticulous and able to meet tight deadlines with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
4. Excellent command of verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
5. Able to work independently and as a team player.

As an Legal Counsel, the successful candidate will:

Co-ordinates with the external legal counsels for litigation matters and corporate secretarial matters. Assist and support Ethics & Compliance with local trainings, implementation of policies, investigations and/or liaising with local authorities as may be needed from time to time.

About the role:
We are seeking a talented, energetic lawyer with excellent communication skills to be based in Singapore. The Senior Legal Counsel will provide a range of legal services for our APAC business and operations, with an important focus on commercial transactions. This will be a key role for the Legal team in NICE’s International region, which comprises Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa (International region). The Senior Legal Counsel will be part of NICE’s global Legal department, and will report to the General Counsel, International.
Requirements:
• Proven success within leading multinational technology companies in a similar role, including substantial experience in cloud services, software and services.
• Commercial legal business partner with a proven track record of results with extensive experience negotiating customer and partner transactions in the technology sector across a variety of markets in the APAC region (including US GAAP revenue recognition experience).
• Substantial experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Solid IP and data privacy experience.
• Holding the highest degree of professional ethics and integrity.

The Senior Legal Counsel’s responsibilities will include, without limitation, the following:
APAC / International counsel
• Strategic partner for the provision of legal services across the APAC region with an in-depth understanding of NICE’s different business segments and products / solutions.
• Act as a trusted and valued advisor to team members across the APAC region, with significant experience in local laws, local culture and ways of doing business in these markets.
• Opportunity to work on EMEA legal matters.
• Partner with other members of the global Legal team to share best practices and work on global initiatives and other projects.
Commercial
• Understand the business priorities and products / solutions, and be central to business discussions.
• Prepare, review and negotiate customer and partner agreements across all areas of the company’s business, with an understanding of the different products / solutions and company requirements. This will include the drafting and negotiation of direct agreements with corporate and government customers, and partner agreements. Experience with different partner / channel models and programs in the technology sector is preferred.
• Experience with data privacy laws in the International Region.
• Prepare, review and negotiate other commercial agreements (e.g., subcontractors, vendors, etc.).

Corporate
