What you will do
Service Technicians diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on card access, CCTV, burglar alarm systems, electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites.
How you will do it
Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repair equipment.
Service, troubleshoot, and install card access, CCTV, and burglar alarm systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as smart phones and laptop computers.
Obtain customer signature upon completed service call assignment.
Available for on-call emergency service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What we look for
Required
2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4 years documented experience with card access and CCTV.
Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
Experience installing, inspecting, repairing, and programming card access and CCTV.
Fire alarm experience is a plus.
Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
Overnight travel may be required.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

What you will do

Leidos is seeking an experienced Physical Security Technician to join NASA’s Physical Access Control Services (PACS) team at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of physical security-related hardware elements including door/gate/turnstile locking systems, badge readers, intrusion detection devices, fixed and pan-tilt-zoom cameras, and related cabling.

Primary Responsibilities:
Basic electronics technician skills including ability to read wiring diagrams and standards as well as be able to safely install and test low-voltage cabling in and around doors, ceilings, and walls (including drilling doors, door frames, and fishing wire).
Install maintain, configure, and modify video surveillance cameras in locations across the facility.
Install maintain, configure, and modify electronic door locking hardware (including electro-mechanical locksets, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, monitor sensors, motion sensors, and key override hardware) in a commercial premise environment.
Maintain technical expertise security endpoint equipment.
Monitor and test security endpoint equipment and associated devices.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in applicable trades (cabling, security, fire surveillance, video surveillance, electronics technician)
Basic understanding of physical security architecture, engineering, and installation/management including access control and video surveillance.
Basic computer skills including Windows, Office, and electronic mail.
Basic understanding of internet protocol network design and concepts.
Basic understanding of IT Security vulnerability protection and hardening.
Strong interpersonal communications skills with both peers and customers.
Required Certification:
Ability to achieve Lenel OnGuard Certified Professional status (Access Control) within first year of employment
Achieve Genetec Security Center and/or Omnicast video management system certification within first six months of employment.
Achieve and retain annual NASA medical monitoring and safety certification for the following task areas: Aerial Lift Operator, Confined Space Entry, Ladder/Scaffolding, Foreign Object Damage, and Noise Area.
Clearance
Secret clearance (must be able to achieve interim clearance within six months of employment and maintain the clearance as a condition of employment)
Telework:
There is no potential for telework, all tasks must be completed on-site
