Established in 2009, we have approximately 100 members of staff, operating both on-site and off-site from our bright and modern offices in London and Newcastle. Our market-leading team is led by our directors who all have extensive legal and industry expertise within financial services. We’re now establishing a base in Malaysia to work with existing and new clients across the Asia-Pacific region. Led by one of our existing senior team, we’re building on the strength of our existing business to develop a new and exciting offering for our clients.

The Opportunity
You will join DRS as a Legal Assistant, organising and preparing files for upload, completing policy and process review, allocating legal negotiations, performing legal administrative tasks, verifying the accuracy of data, managing and delivering MI cases, assisting with executions and onboarding, supporting legal consultants with their caseload, reviewing documentation, extracting data from legal contracts, and performing monthly execution reconciliation.
You will be working with a leading industry practitioner in Kuala Lumpur, senior lawyers and experienced colleagues and collaborate with team members to improve the administration process.
You will be supported throughout by experienced colleagues and be able to continue to learn using the wealth of materials, including videos, presentations and guidance notes, available to you on the company’s learning management system.

Salary: MYR 4000 per month
Responsibilities
· Manage your own workload.
· Organise and prepare files.
· Verify the completeness of MI cases.
· Help provide information and wider reporting for internal DRS stakeholders and the client.
· Collaborate with team members to improve processes and workflows.
· Assist legal negotiators where possible with executions, workload and onboarding processes.
· Allocate legal negotiations and perform legal administrative tasks.
· Extract data from legal contracts.
· Participate in conference calls and/or face-to-face meetings within the DRS team, as well as with clients.
· Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments in derivatives law and practice through research and use of the company’s learning management system.
Requirements
· You’ll have at least a 2:1 Undergraduate degree in Law or equivalent degree. If your degree is in a different discipline, a legal conversion qualification (Graduate Diploma in Law or the Common Professional Examination) is desirable.
· Interest in developing a career in Law.
· Process driven and strong organisational and time management skills.
· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Good verbal and written communication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
· A proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance.
