Job Summary

• To create safety awareness and carry out safety meeting, fire drill exercise, safety induction and safety training to existing employees and new employees
  To implement and monitor aspect of Safety Management System activities in the workplace.
• Whenever no SHO at the workplace, to submit a Monthly Safety Report and Safety Statistic record for DOSH and HQ record.
• To observe and/or maintain a diary detailing safety activity(s), hazardous works, housekeeping, safety instruction, etc. in place.
• To implement all procedures and practices as stipulated in the company’s policy including. Safety and ISO.
• To provide assistance for safety before & during internal/external’s audit by ensuring all related documents at site is updated from time to time.
• To avoid Corruption/bribery in any management process.
  Duties and Responsibilities:-
• To assist the Company in developing the safety policies in compliance with the OSH & FMA act & its regulations and consistent with the vision and safety objectives of the Company.
• To review and monitor latest legal and other compliance and to update accordingly.To inform Management Representative (MR) via written notification.
• To actively work with MR on compliance issues and prevention measures.
• To attend internal and external auditor’s queries.
• Responsible for implementing the requirements of the Safety Management System (site and
  headquarters). 

Requirements

• Valid Yellow Book holder registered with Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)
• At least two (2) years working experience at site and/or assignment exposure
• Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for construction/substation/environment for both safety and administration
• Good writing and verbal communication skills in both English & Bahasa
• Keen intention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.

1. DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

POSITION SUMMARY: 
Provides a high level of property maintenance knowledge. Position has overall responsibility for maintaining the resort and grounds with focus on safety, security and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Develops and implements strategies that will deliver products and services, which meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and employees while maximizing the financial performance. Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing Engineering Operations and Budgets

• Works with property and corporate office team to determine how Engineering is performing against budget and highlights areas of concern.
• Manages the resorts’ equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Administers service contracts to support property needs.
• Coaches and supports the team to effectively manage controllable expenses (e.g., wages, heat, light and power, water consumption, tools and equipment, grounds keeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements, inventory, etc.).
• Manages and controls heat, light and power.
• Develops and manages Engineering budget.
• Oversees execution of long-term preventative maintenance.
• Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how Engineering is performing against budget.
• Addresses potential areas of concern and proposing solutions to owners in a proactive manner.
• Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.
• Supervises construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.

Maintaining Engineering Standards

• Ensures compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
• Maintains property life safety systems (e.g., fire-fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems).
• Ensures resort and equipment licenses, permits and certifications are current.
• Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

Managing Profitability

• Manages areas of operation to budget by reviewing operating statements, budget worksheets and payroll related progress reports.
• Manages departments controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Participates in the development of departments capital expenditure goals; manages projects as needed.
• Participates in the budgeting process for areas of responsibility.
• Understands the impact of departments operation on the overall property financial goals; educates staff on details as appropriate.
• Reviews and manages controllable expenses such as, heat, light, power, water consumption, tools and equipment, grounds keeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements, etc.

PRE-REQUISITES:

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or 6 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
  OR
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
• Strong leadership skills and able to lead a team efficiently.
• Candidate must be willing to work in Langkawi.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
• Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing M&E systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
• Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
• Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential M&E engineering projects and studies.
• To coordinate all M&E site work and monitor project progress.
• To assist the site Engineer or Manager at site on technical support. 
• Preparing specifications for purchases of M&E equipment and materials.
• Supervising or training project team members.
• Estimating material, labour, or construction costs for budget preparation.
• Maintaining M&E equipment.
• Working with a variety of technicians.

Job Requirements:

• Experience to handle M&E infra work.
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or in any related fields.
• Minimum one (1) year of working experiences.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in AUTOCAD is an added advantage.
• Ability to coordinate with consultants and contractors in solving any site technical issues.
• Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia Japanese is an added advantage.
• Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.
