We are working with a VC firm that specializes in Biopharma investments, they have a slightly different model where they have a team that comes up with an idea and then hire the right people to make it happen.
This is where the Chief Scientific Officer comes in, you will enter as a Founder of the business, listen to their idea and then take responsibility for making it happen. They will provide a good amount of funding ($10+ million) and support but you will be the one to set the strategy, direction and lead the business in all aspects.
From deciding on office space, hiring the team, additional fundraising and ultimately development of the product it will all be down to you with the idea being that you transition into a CEO role as the company develops and grows.
They are looking for people who have previously been in senior roles within pharmaceutical drug development, not just involved in the execution piece but also in setting the strategy.
