The Sanford fit team enjoys a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely when needed. We are a fun, creative, team that works closely together to achieve publication deadlines. The intern will have a project to focus on, but will also have an opportunity to work in other areas they are interested in.

Sanford Fit is the Children's Health Initiative from Sanford Health, developed to engage and empower children, families, and communities to make healthy lifestyle choices. The program provides free online resources to support that goal.
Job Description
Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.
We are seeking an Intern to join our team and gain knowledge and experience working in a professional team environment. As a Sanford Fit Intern, you will:
- Shadow, observe, and participate in the development of the free children's health programming and resources we offer through our website: fit.sanfordhealth.org.
- Participate in presentations and special events to engage with families and children in our community.
- Create engaging and effective educational materials using health education standards.
Internship Logistics:
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program specializing in Education (All Grades, Physical, or Health), Childhood Development/Children and Youth, Coaching, Public Health, or Exercise Science/Kinesiology. They must be able to dedicate 12 weeks or 380 hours in a flexible work environment.
If you are selected for this internship, you will be responsible for the following quality improvement project:
- Assist the Sanford fit team to evaluate and assess an existing elementary health curriculum unit on physical fitness. You will also help develop health promotion resources for parents, caregivers, and educators. The internship will also include community-based health fairs and events.
Candidate should also:
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office
- Able to communicate well in all formats (written, visual, and verbal)
- Be detail oriented and dependable
- Work independently and be a problem-solver
- Have an understanding of educational lesson plans and/or health education curriculum
Qualifications
Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
