In this vital role, the Oncology Senior Manager of Advocacy Relations at Amgen is responsible for building and leading long-term relationships with global advocacy groups and contributes to elevating Amgen as a trusted partner of choice for patients and patient organizations. They may support educational campaigns, integrate the patient voice across a product’s lifecycle, elevate individual patient stories, and champion equitable access to improve the health outcomes for patients living with cancer.
The following are key responsibilities and elements of the role:
Builds and maintains long term, substantive relationships with patient groups, professional associations and other key stakeholders based on values of trust, respect and transparency
Develops aligned advocacy strategy plans with internal functions to ensure One Amgen voice and priorities are incorporated into engagement plans
Drives high-quality initiatives around shared goals including improving patient empowerment, shared decision making, and bringing novel therapies to the patients who need them.
Supports patient groups to advocate for patients to receive guideline appropriate cancer screening and treatment
Mobilizes patient groups to advocate for equitable patient access to appropriate treatments
Brings the voice of patients and advocates to address patient unmet needs and drive patient focused solutions in the design and development of our clinical development programs
Creates engagement opportunities for patients and their caregivers to share their stories and experiences across the organization

What we expect of you

Experience Requirements
The Client Relations Executive must have at least 3 years of professional business development experience in an allied healthcare organization, with a strong preference for experience in a hospital, long term care, assisted living, in home care, or pharmaceutical environment. Interest, knowledge and a passion for the hospice and palliative care field is preferred. Other equivalent business development experience working in the post-acute environment and/or with payor source environments will be considered.
Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is strongly preferred, but not required. Documented equivalent healthcare industry business development experience may also be considered.
