Strategy To develop and delivery relevant strategies and provide medical leadership across the whole organisation, with responsibility for clinical input and oversight. Formulate and execute the Hospices audit plan, ensuring all relevant practices and activity is subject to verification against documented policies and procedures, producing reports following the Hospice Governance process. Lead and develop the coordination and delivery of the Hospices mandatory training programme. Manage and monitor staff performance, absence and practice addressing any issues in accordance with hospice HR policies, procedures and within codes of professional practice. Support the Management team to train and develop staff in clinical and corporate audit relevant to their role, focussing on a team approach and encouraging ownership of compliance issues throughout the organisation. Undertake internal appraisals for all Hospice Doctors and support their professional development. Participate in the current out-of-hours system or any on-call rota established. Education To support the development, co-ordination and presentation of education, training and development opportunities for staff. Identify, through annual performance and appraisal, areas for staff development. Ensure effective induction programmes for all staff. Act as the link and representative of the Hospice for education providers and Commissioners. Attend all mandatory training. Attend any training or development required by the Hospice. Support Medical trainees. Please note the Medical Director is expected to undertake weekends as part of the Medical Team rota for which time off in lieu is given.

Organise and direct both the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer office and portfolio efficiently and effectively to ensure key programmes and portfolios are delivered on time. Manage and implement multiple interrelated projects in support of specific strategies within the CMO and CNO portfolios from contract/proposal of initiative to final operation stage including benefits, risks and dependencies of the key issues. Maintain an understanding of the strategic goals and objectives of the Trust and related programmes and ensure the CMO and CNO portfolios and programmes of work support the direction whilst ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care. Responsible for writing, editing and implementation of policies and procedures within the CMO and CNO portfolios. The postholder will be expected to interpret, write and support implementation of policies, ensuring external policies from national bodies; for example, HEE or NMC or NSPA, will be applied accurately and appropriately within our internal policies and are communicated with evidence of implementation. The postholder will also be expected to review and monitor the implementation of policies within our partners across SEL and evaluate whether they should be applied to our policies and procedures to ensure variation is limited and best practice is achieved. Where required, deliver or assure on statutory functions, including that of the Responsible Officer and the Caldicot Guardian function. Support the management of investigations that are highly confidential. Ensure high quality and effective methods of communication across the Trust and with external agencies including partner organisations, regulatory bodies and service user groups in relation to the CMO and CNO projects and portfolios. The postholder will be expected to communicate with patients and public on occasion in highly sensitive, confidential, and contentious situations. They must be able to adapt their communication to ensure these situations are managed sensitively and supportively, and to recognise and prioritise when urgent matters are disclosed. Handle significantly complex and, sometimes highly confidential, information. The postholder will be required to analyse information from multiple providers such as the ICB and external regulators such as the GMC. They will need to make judgements regarding the implications of decisions and actions, and communicate these accordingly. Secure full engagement, develop and maintain highly collaborative relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders modelling a collaborative and influencing style of team working. Monitor, interpret and quality assure progress against deliverables. Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative measures to determine performance against strategy and plans. The postholder will provide a significant contribution to the creation of any plans, working with Senior Divisional and Corporate teams to develop these. For example: Patient Safety Strategy and Actions Plans in response to Regulatory concerns. The postholder will be expected to support and sometimes lead the delivery of strategy and plans, this includes ensuring goals, milestones and objectives are set and performance managed to achieve. This will also require leadership ability to engage teams and support the delivery of programmes. Appropriately report progress against strategy through representation at senior management meetings, external forums and by written reports to relevant committees and meetings. Work with the CMO and CNO, DCMOs and Deputy Medical Directors to facilitate, support and guide medical recruitment, education, realisation, and development. The postholder will line manage the two Executive PAs for the CMO and CNO, and will conduct sickness return to work meetings for the CMOs direct reports. Ensure the CMOs project managers deliver an effective medical appraisal system, and that appropriate monitoring is undertaken to provide assurance that internal and external performance targets are met and the revalidation process delivers the requirements of the national standards and performance targets. The postholder will have autonomy to exercise their judgement within their delegated responsibilities, and will be required to have periods of concentration when writing papers/ reports/ analysing data, but interruption is possible, so therefore they need to be able to rapidly prioritise time and work needed.

Role Mission

Directs scientific strategies and activities to support Diagnostics commercial success in the APAC region, as well as provide valuable feedback to new product development.

Partners closely with regional Commercial operations, global marketing and customer marketing, as well as R&D to ensure high quality and effective scientific content and education on transfusion medicine topics is provided to the field.

What your responsibilities will be

· Provides scientific, technical and medical expertise and guidance, in area(s) prioritizing immunohematology/blood typing and secondly transfusion medicine, blood banking, blood policies.

· Identify/source key resources needed to support medical affairs goals in the region - Build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders.

· Partners closely with APAC commercial operations, Global and Customer Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Affairs to ensure focus/alignment of medical affairs activities and deliverables in APAC with the overall business strategy in region. This includes but not limited to support activities of existing product offerings and identification of new products and their respective development. Support development and implementation of scientific marketing and sales tools.

· Ensure Grifols scientific leadership through research, congress symposia, publications, educational activities, and strong collaborative relationships with key opinion and thought leaders.

· Monitor industry innovation to assess competitive activity and identify opportunities for future business development.

· Contribute to the management and/or review of Grifols-sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies.

· Work with Clinical Affairs as needed to ensure proper and relevant analysis of trial data.

· Provides material review to ensure scientific soundness and compliance with applicable policies and regulations

· Monitor, analyses and interpret developments in government policy that have an impact on short- and long-term business, to enhance company’s leadership in industry related engagement with government ministries.

· Expertise in transfusion science/medicine and business acumen in the blood bank industry or donor screening industry. Research and publication background. 5 years or more of industry experience including in an invitro Diagnostic market is desirable. Ability to analyze and communicate scientific and clinical information. Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and internet databases. Working knowledge of budget/spend management, with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in English is mandatory.

· Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, especially with key stakeholders and external customers and collaborators. Proven track record establishing and maintaining scientific collaborative relationships with key opinion and thought leaders.

· Minimum requirement: MD or PhD in a Biological Sciences field

· Minimum 10 years of experience in transfusion science/medicine; at least 3 years experience working in scientific/medical affairs role highly desirable.

Manpower is recruiting a Directorate Support Officer on behalf of our public sector client.

Job type: Temporary
Duration: 9 months with the possibility of an extension
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm or 9 am - 5 pm
Hourly rate: £11.67

The role
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the team and to be the first point of contact for any queries or request from both internal and external stakeholders.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Maintain and update calendars for the Service Manager and Operations Support Manager
• Manage incoming requests for information and respond to queries via telephone, email or direct communication
• Arrange and coordinate meetings, including booking rooms and setting up equipment
• Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and documents
• Take minutes during meetings and prepare formal records
• Organise and maintain paper based and electronic filing systems
• Greet and register visitors ensuring compliance with security protocols
• Management of incoming and outgoing mail.
• Co-ordinate travel bookings and accommodation for staff
• Typing, to include audio typing transcriptions

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in using Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams)
• Experience of working in an administrative environment
• Experience in co-ordinating diaries/rotas and allocating tasks
• Advanced keyboard / Microsoft Word skills
• Team player and able to work as a part of the team

The role is subject to satisfactory references and standard DBS check (Manpower covers the cost of the DBS check).
