Position Summary:
Illumina is seeking a Senior Human Factors Engineer to join our growing team of experience designers and researchers as we build best-in-class customer experiences across all Illumina hardware and software products. You must be highly skilled with human factors and ergonomics research, applied cognitive research and human-machine integration design. Successful candidates should have a solid foundation in designing medical device experiences and well versed with appropriate standards including IEC 62366-1 and -2, ANSI/AAMI HE75 and FDA guidance on Applying Human Factors and Usability Engineering to Medical Devices. Experience with international regulatory bodies including IVDD and EU IVDR 2017/746 is a plus.
In this role you will be responsible for driving human factors across a wide range of projects and must be comfortable conducting human factors research to understand user needs and use-related risk analysis to inform the design of research and clinical products. Supporting and/or leading usability risk analyses as well as planning, conducting, analyzing and reporting on formative, summative usability studies and final human factors use validation and human factors task knowledge studies is an integral part of the work. Experience collaborating with regulatory groups to create human factors documentation required for medical devices and IVD submission to medical device regulatory agencies is a plus. You must be extremely organized, comfortable creating detailed documentation, and thrive in collaborating with others to drive towards success.

The role
As a Human Factors Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll provide a vital role in the production and modification of safety cases and provide technical advice to Plant Managers to support safety critical operations.
Day to day, you'll support the development of modern standards safety cases and engineering facilities that support the UK Naval Nuclear Propulsion Programme. You will work within and be supported by a team of human factors professionals who work within the Safety Engineering Team.
This is a full-time role (36 hours) mostly based from home and a requirement to be on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard one day per week.

You Have:
1+ years of experience with aerospace systems
1+ years of experience with digital engineering tools, including Cameo and Magicdraw, Sparx EA, DOORS, MATLAB, STK, ModelCenter, or Teamcenter
Knowledge of defining and supporting MBSE projects
Knowledge with using systems and digital engineering approaches to manage system architecture definition, requirements development, or technical baseline deliverables
Knowledge of systems modeling languages
Public Trust
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
Nice If You Have:
Experience with NASA or commercial human space flight programs
Knowledge of NASA system engineering practices

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,900.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
