Our Finance team helps oversee our financial affairs worldwide to ensure the continued growth of our capabilities and talent. They weigh every finance decision, no matter how big or small, to determine how it will affect the business, making them a key piece of RGA’s operations and evolution.
R/GA is seeking a motivated individual who is interested in achieving “best in class” results in a very dynamic environment. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance (Business & Operations) – APAC, the Finance Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Managers, along with Producers/Client Service Leads on the overall financial management of Singapore and Indonesia markets & the Asia region. This includes, but is not limited to, the office revenue and profitability, overseeing billing of fees and out of pocket expenses.
What role you will play in our team
● Partners with GM and office leadership team to help drive office strategy.
● Overall P&L budget management that includes accurate revenue forecasting and cost management.
● Working closely with Business teams to understand key business drivers/changes to provide accurate revenue forecasting.
● Working with various business units to identify cost efficiencies and implementing controls for managing costs, including approval for investments and project discounts.
● Advisor to GM on commercial decisions, balanced with assessment of business risks (financial and contractual) and understanding of the business.
● Review of client’s Statement of Work (SOW) in ensuring that it is compliant with R/GA internal guidelines and local legal requirements.
● Project pricing and rate card reviews to ensure that project pricing is aligned with R/GA guidelines adapted with local market practices. This includes analyzing project & client profitability and supporting on pitch pricing models.
● Ensure that jobs, budgets, and billing schedules are set up and maintained correctly in Vantage, incl. reviewing project health and compliance.
● Oversight in month-end closing duties including revenue recognition and IPG reporting requirements.
● Oversee duties of accountant and provide managerial support where needed:
- Month-end closing duties, incl. analytical reviews, P&L and BS adjustments, month-end pre-close preparation.
- IPG reporting requirements.
- Local statutory requirements and reporting.
● Ability to independently resolve issues and escalate promptly where necessary.
● To manage any applicable internal and external audit process.
● Continuously drive improvements to systems and processes.
● General assistance to GM on adhoc requests.
● Adhoc support to APAC Finance & Ops Director in regional initiatives, including consolidation of regional Management Information decks.
● Additional related responsibilities and ad hoc reporting as required based on the evolving needs of the agency.
The ideal person
● Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Assistant Financial Controller, or similar role.
● Well versed in local statutory & tax requirements. Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
● 5+ years’ related experience, preferably in the advertising industry.
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
● CPA/CA qualified or equivalent.
● Has experience with Vantage/SAP, or knowledge of integrated financial systems.
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
● Incredibly organized and pays extra attention to detail.
● Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Self-motivated and loves a good challenge.
● Enjoys working with stakeholders across multiple departments and countries, including Producers and Account Leads.
