As an HR intern in Patient Safety & Quality, you will be a part of several HR projects, focused on implementation/ change initiatives. In return, we offer you

• Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

The HR Specialist - QA is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and correction of erroneous personnel actions, and providing supporting Federal statute, VA policy and OPM guidance to VISN HR staff for corrective actions to erroneous personnel actions in all HR program areas: Recruitment and Placement, Pay Administration, Maintenance of e-OPF, Awards Program, Performance Management, Personnel Suitability and Security, Accountability System and Employee Relations/Labor Relations. Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Analyzing and evaluating complex programs or issues in the QA of all HR program areas;
• Utilizing results from audits to create standardized HR processes for the entire network and provides just-in-time training to ensure the accurate processing of personnel actions and the necessary corrections to erroneous personnel actions;
• Providing VISN HR managers and VISN HR employees with information, guidance and interpretation related to complex HR policies that require substantial research;
• Identifying technical discrepancies in all HR program areas identifying the need for training, interventions and strategies that improve the VISN HR staff's accuracy with processing and coding personnel actions, performance and ability to meet HR business requirements;
• Reviewing technical data reports to assist in determining goals and recommendations to improve the technical function of the VISN HR staff, as well as continuous preparation for, and coordination of, all outside HR audits and reviews;
• Providing recommendations and takes positive action to assure establishment and maintenance of training and development programs that contribute to mission accomplishment;
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: : The regular and recurring work of the position involves sitting at a desk, conferences, meetings, etc., and occasional visits to activity work sites. • Utilizes results from audits to identify technical discrepancies in all HR program areas; identifying the need for training, interventions and strategies that improve the VISN HR staff accuracy with processing and coding personnel actions, performance, and ability to meet HR business requirements.
• Provides VISN HR managers and HR employees with information, guidance and interpretation related to complex HR policies that require substantial research; using extensive knowledge and experience with Federal and VA HR regulatory and legal requirements.
• Reviews technical data reports to assist in determining goals and recommendations to improve the technical function of the VISN HR staff, as well as continuous preparation for, and coordination of, all outside HR audits and reviews;
• Provides recommendations and takes positive action to assure establishment and maintenance of training and development programs that contribute to mission accomplishment.
• Develops collaborative relationships with stakeholders and HR staff to ensure procedures are in place to accurately process personnel actions and corrections when needed.

• Work with HR supervisors to ensure performance and ability to meet HR business requirements are established and implemented.
• Identify technical discrepancies in HR client service areas for training need, interventions and strategies to improve HR functions.
• Conduct on-site and/or virtual accountability reviews.
• Provide HR staff with information, guidance and interpretation related to complex HR policies.
• Collaborate with HR supervisor and management in determining short- and long-term initiatives.
• Develop and provide consultative services and authoritative advice to HR staff, managers, and employees.
