The role is being offered on a remote basis, with the requirement to visit the head office in North Lancashire just 1 day per month. A key part of this role is to identify general business and tax planning opportunities and implement solutions, and you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the Firm's Business Development and Marketing activities.You will line manage a small team of junior accountants, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle such as training and development, sickness absence, and assisting with recruitment and selection activities.
The personWe are looking for an organised and self-motivated team player, with a natural desire to go the extra mile. You will have a good technical grasp of all tax, accounting and commercial areas and are able to identify advisory opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be needed in this busy role.You will be a fully qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience. It is an essential requirement of this role that you have experience of reviewing files prepared by others and providing effective feedback.It would be an advantage if you have previously worked in a general practice environment covering Payroll, VAT, Management Accounts, Financial Statements, and Tax. Ideally, you will also have prior experience in people management and business development, but these are not essential.You will need to live within a commutable distance of Oxford.
Our benefitsThis position is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours during Monday to Friday.Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per year, depending on experienceThroughout your initial settling-in period, normally your first 6 months, you will be based in our Oxford office so that you can build strong colleague and client relationships and be confident in your role and with our systems, after which some homeworking may be agreed.

Your new role

This is a brand-new role and an exciting opportunity to become an HR Business Partner in a company that has ambitious plans to build on their success to date.

They are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is progressive, engaging and who has the drive to develop, as you will be involved in all aspects of Recruitment and HR across the UK, with exposure to international teams too.

You will be a fundamental member of the team to ensure they deliver a positive culture that represents the business and their values. This is a varied role where you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in all areas of HR, Recruitment and Office management to effectively support the organisation. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic HR agenda while providing comprehensive HR support to designated business units. Working closely with senior leadership and line managers, you will act as a trusted advisor, offering guidance and expertise on a wide range of HR matters.

This is a varied, autonomous role that offers hybrid working (3 days office vs 2 days WFH) and an opportunity to occasionally travel internationally for work (3-4 times / year). Working hours: 37.5 / week with flexibility around start / finish times to suit you between 8am-6.30pm.

What you'll need to succeed

This position will suit someone with experience as a HR / People Business Partner or someone working in an HR / People Advisor role keen to step up. You must be an influential person who can build lasting relationships and who has integrity, resilience and great attention to detail with the ability to prioritise work effectively.A CIPD qualification is required and you should be a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an analytical mindset who is able to interpret HR data and metrics.
