About The Position  


  The Associate Lecturer must lead classes in their area of expertise, engaging in academic and administrative tasks related to these disciplines. Responsibilities include delivering lectures and tutorials, evaluating students, and managing courses in accordance with the University's standards. Additionally, they are expected to contribute to research aligned with RMIT?s strategy. The role involves progressive development in teaching and research with support and direction, fostering increasing independence over time.

Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Business.

A part time role will be considered.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes in business, across a range of levels of further education, higher education and / or apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

This post requires a strong background in Business or a related field and the candidate must have proven track record of professional / vocational expertise, ideally in finance, marketing, people management, retail sales or a related business / commercial sector.

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
