• Gather, organise, maintain critical supply and demand data related to global vegetable oils.
• Keeping organized records of data, documents, models, and historical reports to facilitate analysis and forecast while continue refining data and information resource networks.
• Develop price related statistical models to create an edge over the industry.
• Interpret and assemble data for forecasts and benchmark it against the market.
• Act as one of the gatekeepers of supply and demand information to streamline collection, dissemination and protection of our proprietary data and information.
• Provide consultation to trading teams in form of information database and any analysis report upon request.
• Keeping abreast of global developments in the industry, such as, renewable energy, weather and vegetable oils substitutions.
• Co-lead weekly fundamental analysis meetings, highlighting key changes to both supply and demand, providing explanations and revisiting forecast on these factors.
• Clearly communicate findings and analysis, using charts and graphs as supports.
• Build and maintain contacts with key industry players.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
• Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
• At least 1 – 3 years of relevant working experience
• Good knowledge of the whole industry (plantation -> refining ->consumers) and competing vegetable oils
• Good knowledge on the physiology of palms trees
• Good understanding of various trading strategies
• Good contacts with key players in the industry
• Strong database and programming skills
PERSONALITY TRAITS

Basic Purpose/Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Director, Market Analysis, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting Singapore Trading desks by providing short and long term fundamental analysis. The analyst will work effectively within the Singapore analysis group but also contribute regularly to the assignments led by trading strategists and senior analysts in other locations such as Houston and London. The Market Analyst will proactively engage with traders and trade managers to understand current and potential positions and tailor analysis accordingly. He or she is responsible for working closely with the trading strategists in other locations to drive fundamental analysis for the global team.
