The Natural Resource Parks Technician is responsible for providing a wide variety of semi-skilled labor to support the management of the Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) properties. Utilize hand and power tools, motor vehicles and specialized power equipment. Monitoring, reporting, implementation, operating and maintain equipment/tools, training, pursuant to natural resource management.
Schedule: This full-time position operates on a four-day work week (Monday-Thursday) from 7:00A-5:30P. This is an on-site position that may require overtime work.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $23.00 - $24.00 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.
Please note this is a limited position anticipated to end around October 2024; however, we are flexible with the end date. We highly encourage college candidates to apply!

Hiring salary for this position is $24.69 - $30.86 hourly.

This is classified as VHBE (Variable Hour Benefit Eligible), where the selected candidate will work an average of 32 to 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will be eligible to elect Medical Benefits as well as accrue paid time off and receive 11 paid holidays.
This position will provide general administrative support and coordination of multiple Human Resource functions such as learning and development, benefits, compensation, recruiting as well as support with employee events and additional special projects. Work will be guided by either a supervisor or lead role.
Administer the Tuition Assistance Program, including tracking, updating communication materials, keeping accurate records, providing correspondence to applicants and verifying eligible payments
Administer the Continuing Education Program, including updating all records and program materials, maintaining positive relationships with school contacts, organizing Career Fairs and advertising
Responsible for processing Years of Service Awards and recognition gifts. Plans and coordinates the annual Years of Service Recognition Banquet
Coordinates, schedules and assists in employee orientation and onboarding processes
Plans, coordinates and implements employee events, to include HR specific events and city-wide employee events
Provides backup coverage for the front desk: greets and assists customers; directs questions and phone calls to appropriate divisions; advise on processes and policies
Maintains and updates the HR intranet SharePoint page
Supports HR staff with special projects, researches information and makes recommendations in alignment with established city policy and procedures
Provides information and assistance to internal and external customers
Assists in keeping division process and procedure and training manuals up to date
Types and proofreads a variety of correspondence, reports and documents
Performs additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Experience:
One year experience in administrative support role
Prior experience handling office responsibilities, experience in customer service, or related field
Knowledge:
Knowledge of general Human Resources principles and policies
General office equipment, including personal computers with related software applications
MS Office Suite
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and managerial skills
Skill in the use of computers including spreadsheet design, database programming and word processing software applications

Essential Personnel:
