Job Description

Chronic unresolved inflammation is a key pathogenic feature of prevalent inflammatory disorders and related syndromes that together are predicted to affect close to 60 million people with an annual cost of $90B. As such, the global anti-inflammatory therapeutic market is in urgent need for new targets for therapeutic intervention.

The Ho lab at Duke-NUS is building a platform to mine the human genome for novel determinants of the inflammatory response. • Demonstrated hands-on experience in panning approaches using phage display
• Experienced in antibody-based binding assays (ELISA and flow cytometry)
• Strong experience in molecular biology technologies (cloning and sequencing)
• Fast learner with problem-solving skills, an ability to work independently and present results and thoughts in a clear and timely manner
• Disciplined and well-organized with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced with mammalian cell culture for antibody production including basic antibody purification

The Associate Research Coordinator (ARC) will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Department of Breast Surgery to support administration of the compliance, financial and various operational aspects of clinical studies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in all aspects of study operations for clinical studies.
• Take patient consent in clinic, as well as collect tissue and blood samples for clinical study,
• Manage grant coordination and submission and any other duties assigned by PI.
• Setup and maintain the clinical database.
• Collaborate with PI to prepare materials required for institutional review board (IRB).

Requirements:

• Diploma in life sciences or a related field.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy is a bonus (not required).
• 1 year of experience in research-related activities is preferred.
• Able to communicate with research participants.
• Fluent in English and another mother-tongue language
• Good time-management and organisational skills
• Meticulous, fast and accurate in your work.
• Proficient with Microsoft excel/word/powerpoint

This role requires a passion for innovation, the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, and a commitment to contributing to groundbreaking discoveries in computer science and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to design, implement, and analyze novel research projects.
• Conduct high-quality research, developing new algorithms and models, and publishing findings in top-tier conferences.
• Formulate the machine generalization problem in light of recent advancements in foundation models.
• Design algorithms that improve diffusion model generalizations.
• Collect or consolidate data to validate the designed algorithm.
• Communicate research outcomes through papers or presentations.

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree in computer science/engineering
• Experienced in PyTorch or Tensorflow
• Relevant publication regarding machine generalization or diffusion model is preferred.
• Proficient in programming languages and frameworks relevant to machine learning, specifically Python and PyTorch.
• Demonstrated publication record in top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, or similar.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating algorithms and models, particularly in diffusion models and machine generalization.
