Purpose of the role
Support culinary development chef to any activities needed to drive innovation and deliver product, recipe and content development in support of both McCormick SEA Consumer and Flavour Solution flavour B2B business, marketing, sales and RD teams.
Support culinary development chef in the promotion of existing and new products by providing culinary and flavour knowledge to customers/distributors through presentations, culinary demonstrations and collaboration sessions; and coordinate large internal events such as Flavour Forecast.
Maintain overall upkeep of the Singapore Technical Innovation Center kitchen.
Key roles & responsibilities
TIC Kitchen
Handle the overall upkeep and maintenance of equipment and cleanliness in the Singapore TIC kitchen. Check all ingredients and company's product are properly shelved, displayed and managed.
Culinary Support – Research
Support Culinary Development Chef pertaining but not limited to recipe development, recipe, and concept research, conducting sensory test, provide feedback on recipes and presentation and other administrative matters
Culinary Support – Demonstrations
Support to any internal or external presentations, handling cooking for culinary show case, sample preparations, setting up of kitchen and sensory room for the presentation.
Cross functional support
Support as required by other fuctions such as office and R&D in Singapore.
Requirements
Trade skills in culinary, food safety and sanitation certification
Sound communication skills – written and oral.
A collaborative work approach.
Good understanding of western and Asian culinary techniques.
Understands flavour profile of culinary spices and condiments and their uses in Asia Pacific, especially South East Asia.
