The post holder carries responsibility for the assessment of care needs and their development, implementation and evaluation of programmes for adults of working age with mental health problems that are referred to the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. The Essex Perinatal Mental Health Service operates from five hubs across Essex the hubs are situated around the 5 acute hospitals. The bases are in the areas of Rochford, Laindon, Harlow, Chelmsford and Colchester and provide specialist assessment, intervention for women at risk of moderate to serious mental illness or complex disorders within the county of Essex. The successful candidate will be based at a hub and work from North Essex service providing care as a perinatal Practitioner, holding a caseload for women and their families in the perinatal period of conception up until one year following the birth of the baby.

This is a wonderful development opportunity for experienced RMN, OT or social worker interested in perinatal mental health and wishing to develop specialist knowledge and practice in this rewarding field. The successful applicant will work as part of the Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary team.

This post would suit an experienced clinician looking for a new challenge. The Allington Centre is a 20 bed low-secure inpatient service for forensic services. We specialise in the assessment and treatment of adults with complex mental health needs, who require care in a low secure setting, in response to offending, risky and/or challenging behaviours.

The ward includes a high-dependency area of five beds for the assessment and treatment of those exhibiting disturbed behaviour. There is also a 15 bedded area (LSU) focusing on assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

Patients are admitted to the area considered to be best suited to meet their current needs. All rooms are ensuite and there are provisions for wheelchair users.

Our large multidisciplinary team consists of health care assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, speciality doctors, a family engagement and liaison lead; and chaired by our responsible clinicians/consultants.

The role is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to:
• Carry out comprehensive nursing assessments and be responsible for producing individualised nursing care plans for named patients.
• Coordinate and implement the nursing care plan for individual patients and inform the multi-disciplinary team of progress in the treatment process.

This is an engaging and demanding position whereby the post holder is required to provide effective and comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Health and Safety and VAPR Team and contribute to the broader activities within the team as required. This post will include providing advice, guidance and support on all matters relating to Health and Safety and VAPR function including planning and undertaking training as part of the team’s training delivery programmes.



The role will also support to the Corporate Health and Safety/VAPR Advisors and wider Trust staff on Body Worn Camera’s, violence and abuse incidents, and lone worker devices.



The post holder will be required to have a sound knowledge of;


• Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work regulations 1999.
• National guidance, governmental documentation and core standards relating to H & S and violence and abuse in NHS settings;


1. Responsible for facilitating the calendars for all team members for visits, audits, training and any other related events. This will include booking diaries, liaising with other Trust colleagues and external parties as necessary. In addition to preparing notification of meetings, producing and circulating agendas, papers and undertaking minutes e.g. Health, Safety and Security Committee, Ligature Risk Reduction Group, Police Liaison meetings and any other Task and Finish Groups or committee meetings as required.


1. Responsible for managing the teams databases/Information Systems. This will include managing the electronic files so that evidence is available on demand for preparation of reports, queries etc. To have knowledge and understanding of a range of computerised software including Datix (incident management system) and an understanding of it workings in relation to Health & Safety, VAPR, Security and ligature and ability to assist with updates in software applications as arranged or as directed.


1. The post holder will be responsible for facilitating policies and procedures in being put forward to the relevant committees, Executive Team and Trust Board. This will include checking the appropriate review processes have been followed and re-formatting documents into the Trust standard.

For Non-Medical Prescribers
• Trained Advance Nurse Practitioners (Independent Non-medical prescribers) who have diagnostic skills will provide consultation diagnosis and prescribe for a specific group of service users
• Core Non-Clinical Function
• Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary meetings i.e. referral / review / business / handover
• In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, take a lead role in clinical service development and review
• Identify aspects of the service which need to be improved and implement appropriate changes in conjunction with the Clinical Manager
• Participate with the Clinical Manager for the recruitment of employees in accordance with Trust Recruitment Policy and NHS Safer Recruitment Guidelines. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse within the East Kent Community Rehabilitation Service, at Rivendell.

Rivendell is situated in the village of Eastry near Sandwich, and is one of 6 Rehabilitation Units across Kent, which provides specialist inpatient rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs. The unit comprises of 8 single bedrooms and is staffed 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.

The multidisciplinary team provides a wide range of individualised interventions delivered by nursing, medical, psychological, occupational therapy and peer support clinicians. As a Staff Nurse you would be the named nurse for a small caseload of clients and be expected to coordinate a recovery-focused, individualised plan of care; in addition to supporting the service users through the rehabilitation pathway.
