· To perform both preventive maintenance and repair/daily maintenance work to all equipment used in production and to minimize down time.
· To analyze and report to superior on any faults found in production equipment which may directly or indirectly cause defect to production.

JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician, who is multi-skilled in basic maintenance tasks, is responsible to carry out the day-to-day routine maintenance, undertaking minor repairs and delivery of cleaning resources across the campuses of the University.
The Maintenance Technician acts as the first line of response to defect reports. He will be responsible to assess the extent of repairs required and escalate the defects to the Facilities Manager in a timely manner to ensure that corrective actions are carried out to provide an excellent teaching and learning environment for students and employees of the University.
