Experience

Essential:
1) Design, develop, and teach courses in our Project Leadership and Management - Master of Business Administration (PLM-MBA) program.
2) Support student learning by participating in facilitating workshops, student clubs, graduation, and other student-facing activities. Our program hosts the regional chapter of PMI monthly roundtable meetings and supports the annual Women in Project Leadership and Management and Annual Mile-HI PMI Symposium.
3) Maintain currency in the field through scholarship, including peer-reviewed publications, presenting at conferences, and other scholarly activities.
4) Actively serve the college and university by participating in various standing committees, task forces, etc., facilitating our operations.
5) Conduct service to the community, profession, or discipline by participating with industry groups, editorial boards, etc.
Our ideal candidate holds a strong teaching record and preferably an industry background or a history of working with industry in an academic setting.
Education Requirement
A doctoral degree or ABD status in project management, business administration, operations, leadership, marketing, or a closely aligned field of study is required, preferably from an AACSB-accredited school.
A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other Project Management certification from a globally recognized credential-issuing institute is desired for this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Geography in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State is seeking applications for a Lecturer and Lab Manager with a focus on community geography to advance cartographic research and outreach. The Department of Geography has set a goal in its strategic plan to develop a community geographer position, and this position advances that aim. The successful candidate will work with Professors Anthony Robinson and Chris Fowler and will focus on serving as the creative director and manager of the recently launched GeoGraphics Laboratory, a new department collaboratory for mapping-oriented research, education, and outreach that is housed in the Gould Center for Geographic Education and Outreach.
This position will include a mixture of geographic information science teaching (3 courses per year on topics to be determined in consultation with the Department Head) in addition to continuing the development of our GeoGraphics Lab. For the GeoGraphics Lab, this position will lead cartographic design projects in collaboration with faculty and students to advance community geography efforts, as well as manage/maintain lab infrastructure in support of the lab’s daily operations.
Education and Experience:
A master’s degree or its equivalent is required by the start of employment. We seek candidates who have a background in cartographic design and who have experience teaching geographic information science courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have developed a professional portfolio of cartographic products made for external clients and who have experience with cartographic research.
