About The Job
The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of various IT projects. This role involves managing across internal and external project teams, coordinating resources, and ensuring that projects are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline.
The IT Project Manager plays a crucial role in driving the successful implementation of technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and meeting stakeholders' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning
a. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
b. Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, task sequencing, and risk assessment.
2. Cross Team Project Management
a. Lead cross-functional teams and end users, assigning tasks, setting clear expectations, and motivating team members.
b. Foster effective communication and collaboration across various teams to maximize productivity and achieve project goals.
3. Budget and Resource Management
a. Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
b. Coordinate with relevant departments to allocate necessary resources and track resource utilization throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
a. Identify project stakeholders and establish strong working relationships.
b. Conduct regular communication, provide progress updates, manage expectations, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
5. Risk Management
a. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop contingency plans and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on project objectives.
b. Monitor and report project status, identifying potential deviations and proposing corrective actions.
6. Quality Assurance
a. Establish and enforce project management best practices and quality standards.
b. Conduct regular quality reviews, ensuring that deliverables meet defined specifications and industry standards.
7. Change Management
a. Plan and execute change management activities to facilitate the adoption of project outcomes.
b. Anticipate and address resistance to change, promoting a smooth transition for end-users and stakeholders.
8. Documentation and Reporting
a. Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records.
b. Generate comprehensive reports on project status, key milestones, and performance metrics for management and stakeholders.
9. Continuous Improvement
a. Identify lessons learned from completed projects and apply best practices to future initiatives.
b. Seek opportunities for process improvements, streamlined workflows, and increased efficiency in project delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (relevant certifications or equivalent experience may be considered).
- Prior experience in financial industry is advantageous.
- Proven experience in IT project management, overseeing the full project lifecycle and successfully delivering complex IT projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate project teams.
- Solid understanding of technology trends, systems development life cycle (SDLC), and IT infrastructure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools for planning, tracking, and reporting project progress.
- Experience in risk management, change management, and quality assurance within IT projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
