Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job Purpose:
The postholder undertake either individually or as a member of a team a variety of duties concerned with Environmental Operations including both general gardening or street sweeping work and horticultural work of a specialist nature in public parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas, public open spaces, public roads, amenity areas and housing estates.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Must have a Full Class B UK driving licence
Must be physically fit to undertake the full range of duties of the post
The post holder, as a minimum, needs to demonstrate skills and experience in:
Driving a wide range of vehicles, including 3.5 tonne tipper trucks, Ride on grass cutting vehicles, small mechanical sweepers
A working knowledge and experience of Environmental Services teams and practices.
The willingness to use The Councils digital platforms in relation to HR (CoreHr)
The ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
The ability to organise and prioritise workloads to deal with simultaneous demands
and to achieve deadlines.
The ability to work proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same
time recognising when matters need to be referred to the Line Manager.

Working within the Perth Engineering team, your position as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will see you carrying out work in our Line Maintenance Department. As an AME, we will see you performing Aircraft Maintenance and rectification as per manufacturers’ and company specification to a high standard. You will be responsible for delivering safe, cost effective, quality maintenance products and services to the airline.
You’ll have –
Completed Certificate IV Aeroskills qualification (Mechanical or Avionics)
Previous experience in a Line Maintenance environment is desirable
Relevant Aircraft Maintenance (Mechanical, or Avionics) trade experience
Experience working on B737, A330 and/or B787 is desirable
Have a proven commitment to aircraft maintenance quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
Have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders
Compliance with all Qantas safe working practices and service standards
Have excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage demanding schedules
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and independently
Commitment to being customer focused with the flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
Highly developed attention to detail
Ability to work shift work
An Australian Drivers licence
Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Medical
